This eclipse intensifies our power to clean seed lines from whatever glitches they may contain. What does that mean and why could it be important? At this portal, our pagan ancestors would celebrate the harvest of seeds, as well as celebrate the ancestors whose seeds were in their own lineage. This year’s Barley Moon is at 14 degrees of Aquarius, which the Sabian symbol relates to shortcutting karma. Since now is a time of seed lines, this karma is particularly related to our family tree. A surprising number of undesirable traits or tendencies are in fact inherited: physical limitations, character defects, addictive tendencies, and daily habits, as well as “curses”—negative beliefs or inappropriate expectations that may have been cast upon the family.
A new current of healing popular in Europe asserts that illnesses or accidents in this life are often caused by a strong emotional impression received by a parent or grandparent before we were born! Of course, we all have enough karma of our own without blaming forbears. Yet the package of incarnation seems to include an allotment of limitations handed down by those before us. Authors such as Zitchen and Icke would add that some of these weaknesses were intentionally programmed into our DNA thousands of years ago by the less-than-divine engineers of the human race. Although some call this theory “pseudo-science,” the arguments against modern day genetic modification cannot be ignored.
Metaphysics is another, higher type of Science. It teaches that our essence is perfection, and that we have been given free will to direct intent and help the wholeness show forth. This portal is especially apt for exercising our freedom to break through inherited restrictions, on humans as well as other species whose DNA may be out of synch with its true expression.
The prayers below are designed especially for triggering this freedom. They offer a potent combination: the prayer of the seal, original affirmations and the name of Archangel Michael, whose usage is an instant barrier to lower vibration influences.
Prayerful Altar-ations for the Eclipse Barley Moon
Raw seeds of any kind, including legumes, which can be sprinkled or scattered about your prayer space
Dry wild grass
A yellow-gold or beeswax candle
A stick of incense, particularly vanilla or patchouli
A vessel of clove tea
Golden minerals such as gold itself, ambar, peridot, citrine or yellowish quartz
Pictures of ancestors or another reminder of your family tree
Eclipse Barley Moon Ceremony
1. Light the incense, saying something like, “This is an offering for Archangel Michael, head of all angels and specialist in sealing.”
2. Light the candle, gazing at the flame as you take a few moments to imagine the entire space radiating with that same intensity, and then seeing that luminescence run back and forth along your family tree, finally expanding to radiate through the seed lines of all creatures on Earth.
3. Repeat the following words for at least 10 minutes:
No, I do not accept limitation, harm or negation in or from my family tree. Spirit’s abiding good fills my lineage and only good can come to it and through it.
I seal my family tree in the consciousness of Spirit’s abiding good and in the name of Archangel Michael here and now.
For another 4 minutes, bless all living creatures with an adaptation like this:
No, I do not accept limitation or harm in or from the ancestry of seeds or other living beings on earth. Spirit’s abiding good fills all lineages and only good can come to them and through them. I seal all of Earth’s seed lines in the consciousness of Spirit’s abiding good and in the name of Archangel Michael here and now.
Finish your prayers with another minute of the first one, for your own family tree, and follow up by repeating them as suggested above, during at least 15 days.
Karma, collective and individual, weighs heavy. Fortunately, there is an ever-present Help, awaiting the invitation of our attention to lighten that load. May our heartfelt prayers direct the divine moonlight of August helping us harvest new, happier seeds for ourselves and for our larger family of all living beings.
