“What the world needs now is love....” Somehow these famous lyrics ring true at this time more than ever before. Changes in the climate and financial system are forcing us to think globally, and the energy of universal, unconditional kindness is one balm the planet clamors for, its value brought into relief as the collective future looks increasingly uncertain.
Leo and Aquarius form two different poles of love. Last month’s eclipse in Aquarius opened a door for the Spirit of Fraternity to strengthen idealistic networks. The eleventh sign of the zodiac is humanity’s friend who can organize the masses, but like the technology it rules, may also become heartless or detached. Despite the Leo-bashing in astrological blogs for this Eclipse, we do well to recall that the Lion’s heartfelt warmth is the spirit that fills out the Water Bearer´s promise. After all, love is a feeling generated by individual spirits. The current Full Moon feeds that flame of joy. Furthermore, the South Node Lunar Eclipse helps us release the past, in this case overcoming attachments, habits and circumstances that have been sullying the essentially pure flame of our love nature.
Perhaps these principles inspire an interesting channeled source (coming through Patricia Cota-Robles) to call this period—that began at the January 25 Eclipse and runs through the current lunation—a vital portal to open to love streaming now to the planet. Another sign of the present opportunity is Jupiter’s conjunction with Mars, and alignment with the North Node in Aquarius that becomes exact on February 14, the official Day of Love. Astrologer Jude Currivan notes that this Valentine’s line-up coincides with the famous lyrics: “When the Moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planet, and love will steer the stars. This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.”
We all want more love, within and without, and the present window can facilitate release of whatever is keeping us from experiencing the awareness that will heal our minds, our lives and the planet. The suggestions and prayers below are designed to synchronize the power of our intent with this opportunity, as we nurture the planet with much needed health-light.
Prayer-ful alterations for the Lunar Eclipse of February 9
- Candle and other decorations in other shades of pink
- Rose quartz, ruby, coral
- Vanilla or rose incense
- Roses or any pink flowers
Also have matches and a page and pen on hand for the following ceremony.
1. Light your candle saying something like,
I welcome the light of pure love into my heart, mind and world.
2. Light your incense as you call on the angels, following this example,
This is an offering for Chamuel and Michael and for all my personal angels and guides. I ask for your help in releasing my mind, life and heart from lower ego-attachments or other obstructions to my love awareness.
3. List in writing conditions, habits or other influences that impede your ability to center in love. These may include possessiveness, pride, toxic shame, childhood wounds, co-dependence or other addictions as well as specific relationships or situations. To do this well requires some minutes of silent, honest introspection.
4. Write words like those that follow once. In a relaxed position, repeat them during at least 15 minutes, with your attention on your heart.
O, Holy Father-Mother, into your Eternal Heart of Love do I immerse myself and all Life on this sweet Earth. I consciously surrender any ego attachments in order to merge with the Love Nature of Your Being until I AM a pure focus of Love.*
Omnipotent Spirit uses my willingness and with the angels assists me in releasing any blocks in my path to love. A space is opened in my mind and heart through which happiness, understanding and plenty flow now to complete the expression of my beloved I AM.
The above treatment will be especially effective if you follow up at least until the next New Moon, with at least ten minutes daily to:
- Read the list you made in step 3, editing, if so inspired.
- Repeat your prayers for at least six minutes.
May this Valentine’s Day see each one of us passing into a new level of love, with our minds in the stratosphere, our hearts on fire and our feet on the earth as we progress along the path of life, about which Florence Scovel said, is really an initiation in love.
