General Astrological Influences, August 2026: Updating Our Light for a New Humanity

By Crystal Pomeroy

Gold sun with a human face surrounded by celestial symbols, moon phases, stars, and clouds on a black background in a decorative, mystical style—perfect for illuminating your August 2026 Daily Success Guide with cosmic inspiration.

Change is in the air. A total Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo, sign of heart, and a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, sign of the soul, intensify the processes of the Magical Triangle among outer planets, harbinger of a new humanity. The configuration, involving harmonies among Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, is still in orb after having perfected in July. This unusual set of aspects is also called “Barbault’s Basket,” in recognition of renowned French astrologer André Barbault, who predicted several years ago that it would mark this decade’s most important period. This month’s Eclipses and the transits of social Venus and expansive Jupiter bring this evolutionary potential home, facilitating an update in the energy of our hearts, souls, connections and success.

The first six days of August are especially good for inner work and healing. Mercury—in emotional Cancer and post-retrograde shadow—facilitates conscious introspection and emotional self-dialogue. Venus in analytic, low-profile Virgo, spotlights problem-solving in relationship to others and to our resources. We should follow our instincts and be selective of who we spend time with, what values our connections enforce and how our attitudes toward love and finances contribute to our wellness. We can take a break (or breaks) during these days to journal, spend time in nature, attend 12-step meetings or a support group, focus on service, or do dream work.

On Thursday, August 6, Venus unwraps her diva side as she enters Libra, the lovely, studied and charming air sign of her rule. We feel sociable and can organize an event, party, or other gathering. We can also cultivate justice, beauty and balance in our relationships, and invest in our image, home décor, garden and key relationships. It’s a sweet, happy, social time.

With warrior Mars in loquacious Gemini, it might also be argumentative, until August 11, when Mars enters sensitive Cancer. Mars in Cancer is less verbose but potentially whiny, due to the Cancerian tendency to take things personally and hold onto slights, real or imagined. Positive ways to use this influence include taking action or working on the home or our emotions, promoting real estate or food for the body or soul, or being an active agent of change for one’s family, mother or country.

Things go best when we help others shine without being attached to their gratitude or attitude. We are apt to overreact to perceived threats. Interactions are more successful for those who avoid taking things personally, and before acting or reacting remember to pause to breathe deeply and listening to intuition. Defense of family and women’s rights, housing, real estate and food production are spotlighted by this transit.

On Sunday, August 9, Mercury enters proud Leo, fueling fun and games, self-expression, romance and creativity, and making for a warmer tone in communications.

Over the next several days, the personal planets connect with…
