General Astrological Influences October 2026: This Grave Isn’t for Us

By Crystal Pomeroy

A crowd with glowing lights overlaps a misty cemetery scene from “This Grave Isn’t for Us,” featuring statues and bare trees under the October 2026 sky.

They thought they could bury us. They didn’t know we were seed.“
~ Ancient Mexican proverb

In October, communications, trips, plans and socializing may seem slow, yet a lot is going on beneath the surface. It’s a key month to get in touch with our feelings, particularly how the feminine—women as people and the feminine element within all—has been twisted and stuffed into the shadows, the wounding that results from that tendency, the instinct to take back our power, and the awakening of popular awareness and empowerment to support this tendency.

Scorpio is currently on steroids. Venus and Mercury, the two most personal planets, both spend most of the month in the dark sign, and in shadow or retrograde. Mercury rules our thoughts and words, and Venus rules love, values, relationships and feminine energy. Our focus is strongly on the shadows.

Mars and Pluto, the instinctive warrior planets that co-rule the sign of transformation, oppose each other. In obsessive, Scorpio fashion, gruesome issues fill the media and magnetize our attention. To name just three, the experiences of Lindsay Clancy, Christa Pike and Jane Doe combine these themes.

No data are available for Jane Doe, but in the calculations I made with their birth dates, both Lindsay and Christy have major Mars-Pluto contacts, as does Patrick, Lindsay’s controversial husband, and Kevin Reddington, her defense lawyer. We can see the archetypes at play: they involve dark secrets, violence, abuse, and women who are being judged in the court of public opinion.

The stories happen during the campaign that is being deployed from the shadows of the dark control system, to disempower women (in issues like reproductive rights, voting, military professions, and others), and rebuild toxic masculinity. The tendencies involved are ancient, but the stars bring a twist. Imaginative Neptune and rebel Uranus scream from the sidelines in Barbault’s basket: “Whatever happens to Pluto, happens to us!”. With Neptune involved, all three cases involve drugs (Lindsay and Jane Doe were both drugged at the time of the crimes, and Christa is threatened with executive via a lethal injection.) As for Uranus, there is an element of shock in each of the three cases. This planet of freedom rules Pluto, and most notably, there has been effective, grassroots pressure on each of them to protect these women who were taken down, in one way or another, by the old boys club, that tends to reduce, devalue and destroy.

Christa is a confessed murderer who was a very abused child; Lindsay is still being tried; Jane Doe was raped by a group of men whose defenders tried to make her look like a willing participant. We’re not touching the specifics of their cases, fascinating though they are. The issue is about what happens when women have been abused in secret and their feelings of disempowerment are repressed? With Scorpio, they come into view to be healed, or they end up boiling forth like sulphury, ochre hot springs whose stench surprises in what had looked like a pretty green meadow.

In October, the personal planets and lunations aspect the transpersonals. Their contacts combine with the energies of Libra—justice, mental skill, relationships, negotiation, argumentativeness, the feminine—and Scorpio, described above, to bring Barbault’s Basket home in a new, deep way for each of us. Any aspect to Uranus, Neptune or Pluto triggers a package of cosmic meaning and a chance for transformation, evolution, activation of our gifts and of the spiritual warrior energy of Neptune, Saturn and Chiron in Aries. This is the month to do …
