Astrological Influences, December 2022: Burning with Intensity and Fire

Astrological Influences, December 2022: Intensity and Fire

Winter is a time of rest, but someone didn’t tell the planets, who have prepared us a complex dance.

This month is burning with intensity and fire. A heated Solstice portal thrusts us ahead. We have opportunities to build and to speak out. Intuition surges, as Neptune and Jupiter, rulers of Pisces, both go direct. Yet we’re still dealing with the past, our energies entwined with the recent Eclipses and Mercury in shadow and retrograde. Dynamic energies push us to go beyond the typical retrograde motions of rehash and review, they move us to pick up the package of our lives and accumulated issues, roll up our sleeves and push forward in new directions.

The month begins on a positive note, as on December 1, Venus sextiles Saturn the builder and squares Neptune, while Neptune stations to go direct.

The Venus-Saturn sextile lasts through Saturday, December 3, and is a great aspect for action, precipitating opportunities for lasting progress in business, relationships, and finance. As the current ruler of rebel Uranus in Taurus and this year’s Eclipses, also in Taurus, the planet of love and appreciation carries a special charge: to carry us ahead in the direction of our evolving values.

What’s most important to us? What movement have we had in our authentic direction since 2019, when Uranus entered Taurus? On the threshold of the last month of 2022, what action step can we take to ground our authentic, preferred direction? Think of people who matter, altruistic or service activities, or a daring project or line of business. This fortuitous sextile brings opportunity for lasting results from our actions in furtherance of what we love, and, as we see below, particularly in Neptunian-related endeavors.

As for Neptune’s station—exact on Saturday, December 3—it submerges us in romantic, artistic, and angelic energies. A portal is opened to our deep minds, and it’s worth being selective of our company and surroundings. Neptune’s station also offers us the opportunity to become aware of  the inward development we’ve undergone since Neptune turned retrograde in late June of this year.

Just after perfecting its station direct, Neptune receives a square from Venus. Venus and Neptune are the planets of personal and mystical love. When they meet, we get a dream-like wave of romance, creativity, compassion, and angelic connections. Venus’ sextile to practical Saturn overlaps with this dreamy merger, highlighting people connections and profitable projects involving spirituality, healing, dream work, intuition, biology, art, or media. If an endeavor in these areas has seemed stuck since June, we can move on it now.
