As the month begins, Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto and Ceres partake of a Capricornian alignment made more intense by the recent Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, sign of Mountain Goat. These influences mean that our overall focus this month is on goals, work, and responsibility. It’s a serious month, one in which we can potentially get a lot done. In fact, we may go into workaholic burn-out mode. Though, in case we forget, a potent Eclipse in Cancer cries out to remind us of our emotional, psychic and family needs.
The best way to apply these potent energies is to remember that we can do anything we want, but not everything we want. Choose one or two goals that relate to your path of mastery, and, if more than one, try to find those that complement each other.
And oh yes, make time for your preferred inner work or spiritual practice too. Pluto indicates forces of evolution at work, and our inner progress connects with the upside of that potential. Our personal emotional healing and spiritual growth also contribute to the positive potentials of the collective experience.
On Saturday, January 3, go-getter Mars enters confident Sagittarius and is happy to romp forward and open new paths. This position can get pushy and tends to overdo things, although the Capricorn lineup and Saturn dispositing Mars (as ruler of Jupiter in Capricorn) ends up winning, and once again we are sent back up the mountain of our highest goals.
On Friday, January 10, we get the first of six eclipses this year, a lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Cancer. Full Moons usually support completion and consolidation, but this one activates the North Node, signifying new energy and opportunities of some kind.
