Astrological Influences November 2024: Fighting for Change

By Crystal Pomeroy

November 2024 Astrological Influences. A person in traditional clothing and a straw hat carries a large lantern, walking toward a glowing horizon against a starry night sky.

As we move into deep autumn, Sun in strong Scorpio emboldens us to focus on change. We’re feeling ready to face and move beyond what has seemed to hold us back. For shadowy Scorpio, this can be a subtle experience. But not this November. Sun’s warrior corulers, brave Mars and ominous Pluto, oppose each other.

This opposition, one of the month’s crucial influences, is intensified by the Scorpio New Moon of Friday, November 1, and remains in tight orb through the US presidential elections. Beginning in soulful Cancer, Mars then moves into regal Leo, where its opposition accompanies Pluto’s reentry into Aquarius and beyond. It seems to give us a chance to clean up our ***t before and during Pluto’s definitive ingress into Aquarius, sign of revolution, on November 20. This intense influence will last through the month and beyond, combining with a strong Saturn presence to help us set limits with ourselves and others and organize for lasting self-sufficiency.

However, not everything this month is tough or intense, thanks to Venus and Jupiter, the two benefics. Sweet Venus will be making herself felt in numerous transits. In addition, she rules the mid-month Taurus New Moon, fueling diplomacy, compassion and positive connections with ourselves, with others, and with light beings. Jupiter—in transits as well as ruling the Sun in Sagittarius and the month’s-end New Moon—will be on board to fuel diplomacy, abundance, and positive growth, including of a spiritual kind. Neptune is final dispositor of this combination, pointing both to mystical potential, and also a potential for mass manipulation.

Under the influence of the Mars-Pluto opposition, some groups will certainly try this. However, very few are apt to be in passive, receiving mode, since we will all feel triggered in one way or another to act for change.

Accompanying the Mars-Pluto opposition is a much gentler aspect from Venus to Jupiter. Even in opposition, aspects between these two benefics expand vibrations of love, charm, goodwill, and prosperity. This takes some of the edge off Mars-Pluto, or at least opens door for alternative, kinder ways of interacting. Throughout November, Venus continues to burn a pink candle of harmony. She will hold the spotlight on women, relationships, compassion, and finance.

Mercury also provides options. The messenger planet is in Scorpio as the month starts, supporting deep thought, alchemical words, and intense communications. On Friday, November 1, Mercury trines Scorpio’s coruler Mars, followed the next day by a sextile to Pluto. These aspects grace the chart for the New Moon, taking some of the pressure off the opposition between the two great warriors, and spotlighting reason and dialogue as tools of solution. There will be a lot of talking, and it will be heated—but it includes opportunities.

As the month begins, Mars is in the personal sign of Cancer, a strongly protective placement. We’re willing to fight for …
