With Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune aligned in Pisces, the Twelfth Sign’s influences will reach an all-time high, as will romance and emotional and spiritual sensitivity. But Pisces requires care. With its two fishes, this sign contains a duality. It can be very sweet, but when it gets defensive, the fish turns slippery and cold. It will be helpful to remain aware of Pisces’ sometimes unexpected polarities during all the planetary action this month.
Early in March, Mars and Venus make their second conjunction so far this year, and will be dancing in proximity throughout the month. This combination of masculine and feminine energies is romantic, and brings a magical touch to personal interactions.
But not everything Mars does is nice and sexy. Besides ruling Sun after the latter enters Aries on March 20, the boxer planet climbs into the ring with the likes of wild Uranus and godfather Pluto. These transits fuel courage and sometimes bellicosity. However, love-goddess Venus remains closely involved with everything Mars does this month, softening his intensity.
And, although three of this month’s lunations trigger bellicose Sabian symbols, the New and Full Moons are fertile and potentially productive.
Saturn’s influence will be stern but potentially stabilizing. This planet of work currently rules Pluto, Venus, and Mars in Capricorn, which are active this month. Saturn also takes some hits himself. This will cool down the sweetness quotient, but hopefully foment an interest in security that can help calm potentially destructive clashes.

The month starts with a Pisces New Moon that invites us to apply our inner power. Exact on Wednesday, March 2, it’s charged with magic, and also with practicality. Conjunct fortunate Jupiter and ruler Neptune, this mystical lunation blesses our intentions and initiatives with angelic support.
A strong Saturn influence is potentially constructive. Mercury the messenger joins this planet of work, bringing focus to our thinking. Sweet Venus and hot Mars align with head-honcho Pluto in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn. This sexy joining of masculine and feminine can bring healing of gender issues, igniting a fuller spectrum of our inner gifts and facilitating powerful collaboration.
New Moons optimize our power of intent, and we can now commit to the next level in our spiritual practice or goals. With Moon and Sun in sextile to surprising Uranus, be on the lookout for unexpected opportunities.
Just the next day, on Thursday, March 3, Mars and Venus perfect their conjunctions to Pluto, extending the impact of this lunation. On Saturday, March 5, Sun conjuncts expansive Jupiter, and on Sunday, March 6, Venus perfects her conjunction to Mars, making the whole first week of March a great time to strengthen our intentions, while visualizing and rooting them in Pisces’ terrain of the unconscious. It’s time to start something new! But if you want to strengthen a traditional relationship or improve a long-standing channel of income, work on it before Sunday, March 6, when Venus and Mars join hands and leave Capricorn’s beaten path, entering Aquarius’ uncharted lands of love, creativity and finance.
