In October, the year’s evolutionary themes move into the arena of relationships. October, starting and ending with two Full Moons, and permeated with the passionate vibration of Mercury in Scorpio, is bound to be an emotional month.
With Mercury and Mars retrograde, the emotions that come up aren’t entirely new. They have roots in our personal histories and in the evolutionary themes activated by the transit of Pluto—god of the underworld—in Capricorn, sign of structures. These themes have been brought into sharp relief in 2020 as numerous planets have joined Pluto in the sign of the mountain goat. With the Sun in and New Moon now in Libra, sign of partnership, the same themes will be playing out in our relationships. Later in the month, Sun in Scorpio and a powerful Samhain Full Moon facilitate Pluto’s real agenda: empowerment, and with it, a new approach to abundance.
Let’s take a quick look the dwarf planet’s mission so far this year. The fun started in January, as Saturn—Capricorn’s demanding ruler—joined Pluto at 22 Capricorn, making a stellium with Sun, Mercury the messenger, and Ceres, asteroid of food supply. On January 10, this team received an opposition from the Eclipse Full Moon in Cancer. Evolutionary forces were set into motion that have been unfolding through the year. In January, we wrote about these influences: “What happens with Pluto on the world’s stage is to some degree a result of our projecting our own power onto figures in high positions.” We can “take it back, by participating in the public sphere in whatever way possible, by taking responsibility for our lives and by applying discipline to achieve mastery…”.
In late March (quarantine time), Jupiter trotted up to join Pluto and Saturn, expanding their influence. Then in April, not content with leaking a mysterious, creepy virus (a Pluto rulership) into the world, the dark dwarf of the solar system turned retrograde, with Saturn and Jupiter soon following suit to rub in the Plutonian agenda of deep transformation.
Yes, Pluto breaks things down. But an often overlooked and extremely important point is that the underlying goal is to …. find out by becoming a Premium subscriber right now! SUBSCRIBE!
