Are you by chance busier or more pressured or obsessed than you feel like you should be at this time of year? If so, you’re already right in sync with November’s non-holiday priorities. Mercury in Scorpio is pulling off a retrograde-of-retrogrades. Whether or not we like it, we’re coming face-to-face with whatever we need to go through to retrieve our power.
In addition, Saturn is about to make his last sextile to Neptune until 2032, creating a window for magical productivity. And Venus, that temptress we usually rely on for a touch of sweetness here and there, will join heavies Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, sign of the builder. Even the two fortuitous lunations call for our involvement. Yes, there are some moments of joy, and there’s a lot of cosmic help. But November has inner and outer agendas, and it summons us to work on both.
As the month begins, we stand on a doorway between dimensions. Sun nears its midpoint between Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice. Archetypes around traditional celebrations: Halloween, All Saints Day, Isis Day (commemorating the search for goddess’s search for the parts of Osiris’ body), Samhain, and El Día de los Muertos, turn our minds to the spirits beyond. With mental Mercury in Scorpio, our thoughts and conversations gravitate to political, psychological, and esoteric undercurrents, and the retrograde tends to draw them inward. It’s a time to honor those who have passed before us and, with the newly waxing Moon, and concentrate on our intentions for inner work, healing and change.
Such activities have special potency now, so remember to visualize, affirm, meditate, and vote for positive, peaceful outcomes from the elections, as well as for personal intentions.
On the morning of Friday, November 1, we get the last hours of Venus’ path through Scorpio, a transit that has been making us look at what we’re really wanting and doing in relationships and finances. Venus’ entrance into Sagittarius favors partying, PR, publicity, foreign contacts, and diplomacy, and brings new lightness and confidence—perhaps in excess—to these areas.
