After a roller-coaster Eclipse season, the stars of June give us a breather to process and integrate the many changes unleashed.
In June, we are offered both the opportunity to turn inward in order to embody and harmonize the changes of the past couple of months, and at the same time, we also feel a natural impetus to generate new, abundant approaches to life. Supporting these dual impulses in June:
- Jupiter, planet of fortune and meaning, opens the month conjunct the North Node (new pathways) in Taurus, sign of prosperity, manifestation and self-esteem.
- The June 3 Strawberry Moon in expansive Sag, ruled by Jupiter, is another cosmic gift. It lifts our vibration and reconnects us with our purpose.
- On June 5, Venus moves from cuddly Cancer to passionate Leo, and enters its preparatory phase for a long retrograde that’s perfect for growing our self-acceptance.
- First Saturn the builder, then Neptune the dreamer both station to retrograde in mystical Pisces, spotlighting our inner life and guidance from the subtle realm, to help heal the shadow issues uncovered by the Eclipses.
- The Summer Solstice triggers an urge to start something in the spirit of all these changes, and
- As for unavoidable Pluto, after having moved into upbeat Aquarius, he backs into Capricorn, sign of work, giving us one more go at mastery, and reinforcing our personal authority.
The month starts on a note of progress, thanks to a magical Jupiter transit. On Thursday, June 1, Jupiter, planet of abundance, joins North Node. These are arguably the two most fortunate points in astrology (the Nodes aren’t planets), and their conjunction is rare, taking place only every 12 years, and not in the same sign. In abundant Taurus, they give us a boost, supporting our ability to use the new financial directions triggered by Uranus since 2019, when the planet of surprises entered the Taurus. The North Node points ahead, and Jupiter opens doors. This combination invites us to metaphorically pack our bags—taking with us the homework plan received from the recent Eclipses—and connect with the horizons that beckon.
Beneficent Jupiter also rules the Full Moon in Sagittarius that perfects just two days later on Saturday, June 3, bringing the Jupiter-North Node conjunction into Luna’s chart and making this an unusually fortuitous lunation. In view of Moon’s aspects to strict Saturn and pushy Mars (in Leo, where Mars is even stronger), this conjunction is particularly welcome. Jupiter relates to meaning, and the Sabian symbol for this lunation is strongly spiritual. There’s energy of work and abundance, but the new horizons have to do with something larger: our higher aptitudes and purpose.
Jupiter also sextiles Saturn, triggering opportunities for lasting benefits, while sweet Venus trines angelic Neptune, unleashing waves of romance, compassion and harmony.
Venus, planet of love, values, and finance rules the Jupiter-North Node conjunction, as well as Uranus in Venus’ sign of Taurus. For the first five days of the month, Venus’ placement in Cancer favors empathy, compassion, and a nurturing, family-oriented love style. Cancer has an intuitive knack for business that works well with the Taurus line-up. If we’re planning to start something related to finance, beauty or romance, it’s safer to set it in motion before Monday, June 19, when Venus enters her pre-retrograde storm. (Projects we start could include undertaking a major expense, new investments, a beauty treatment, cosmetic surgery, a marriage and handfasting ceremony, or a new relationship.)
