In the second month of 2023, Sun will be in the signs of idealistic Aquarius and mystical Pisces. Neptune Pisces’ ruler, has an important presence too, including a highly beneficial sextile from sweet Venus. Intuition and creativity are strong; there’s romance in the air.
But even as we enjoy our idealistic, sweet, sensitive selves, we also get strengthened. Mental Mercury enters brilliant Aquarius. And lovely Venus doesn’t limit herself to romance. Her transits to assertive Mars and powerful Pluto, and her entrance into energetic Aries, make her a bold kind of love-goddess this month. Additionally, this will be Pluto’s last full month in Capricorn after 15 years in the practical sign, where it has helped us build a structure.
Last but not least, although the New Moon in Pisces spotlights our spiritual tendencies, even Luna comes with strong transits that point to protection of our sensitive selves. The stars support creativity, inner work, and relationships, but for empathic types, it’s not business as usual. It’s a month to honor our healing and our gifts with the care they deserve, and to apply not only sensitivity, but strategy and common sense to take care of and protect the jewels of our heart and inner self.
Let’s take a moment to consider the upcoming end of a Pluto cycle. For the last 15 years, the planet of transformation has been grinding its way through Capricorn, sign of structure, propelling us to transform an area of our lives where we can bring forth achievement, but where we can also get stuck in calcified habits. Capricorn represents our strategic, boss-self, the leader who sits at the helm of our life-path.
Pluto empowers. This is a combination designed for self-mastery. Before the planet of intensity switches to revolutionary Aquarius next month, we can look at the area of our chart where Pluto has been for the last 15 years, and strategize to consolidate its gains. Most likely we’ve gone under, in, and out of, an important process of change. What can we do to renew our intentions and finish the job—or at least come away with some spoils from our inner battles?
The beginning of February will be sexy, creative and charismatic, as affectionate Venus squares hot Mars. This aspect kindles romance bigtime with a prospect, or in an existing relationship. If you’re not into that right now, you could apply its magic in a creative project. And all kinds of connections will have a special charm under this influence, including socializing and business. The Venus-Mars square is exact on Saturday, February 4, but its effects are felt for several days before and after, and are quite strong in the chart for the Full Moon of Sunday, February 5, which happens to be in romantic Leo.
On the surface, this combination may seem lusty. And indeed it might be. However, Moon and Sun make a close T-square with rebel Uranus, so if there is romance, it’s not….
