Yet our hands don’t feel free. We are still in the process of emerging from Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, and we are carrying baggage. Over the last 14 years, Neptune in his ruling water sign had brought us dreams. Late last March, as the planet of surrealism left seductive Pisces and entered bold Aries, we began returning from this extradimensional experience. Like mermaids morphing back into human form, we found ourselves on the beach with our hands full of souvenirs from a trip through the collective unconscious. Mixed with rubbery seaweed, we found a surprising assortment. There were dreams of others we had picked up or bought up on the way, some of which turned out to be empty plastic bags. There were toys that turned out to be the stuff of nightmares (like the current show of f*scism). There were cardboard cutouts of our own fantasies. In with the seaweed, chimeras, and nightmares, there were also some magical jewels—gifts of creativity and spiritual powers that had taken miraculous form.
In May, heavy Saturn followed Neptune’s footsteps out of Pisces and into bold Aries. Saturn is related to karma, and Pisces to endings, so this was also a big shift, closing a cycle that had begun 29 years before when Saturn last entered Aries.
What does this have to do with September? In July, Neptune dipped back into Pisces, and this month Saturn retrogrades to join him there. We can now finish releasing false dreams, retrieve the real ones, and close a karmic cycle. This process has an emotional side, which may have to do with facing our unconscious resistance to letting go of the good that past dreams and experiences brought, letting go of false dreams, forgiving ourselves and others, grieving over apparent losses, forgiving ourselves and others, and facing the work of rebuilding that needs to be done. And there is an action side to the process too: it’s time to work our way out of the nightmares and build on those dreams that still have a heartbeat.
September brings two crucial lunations: a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in mystical Pisces that spotlights the emotional part of the letting-go-and-rebuilding process, and a New Moon Solar Eclipse in practical Virgo that includes a square from bold Mars to unstoppable Pluto and also triggers the dynamic Equinox portal. This New Moon increases our drive and focus to act for change. As we see a bit further on, both of this month’s Eclipses have strong Mars energy, and both mix themes of past and future, closing a cycle and starting something new.
Also, this is the last month until next year that the Minor Grand Trine between transpersonal planets is in orb. In an extremely rare configuration, mystical Neptune and revolutionary Uranus are in trine, and both in sextile with mighty Pluto. This could be a great opportunity to rectify the current manifestation of the dark planet’s transit through Aquarius. When Pluto entered the sign of freedom two years ago, many of us were hopeful for positive changes. The current attack on democracy, humanity, and the planet is looking like one of Neptune in Pisces’ false dreams. By connecting with the higher octaves of these planets, with Spirit, and with one another, we can receive the higher potential of Pluto’s transit. Personal planets Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars make numerous transits to the Minor Grand Trine, giving us specific continual opportunities to download their energy into our daily lives.
But… that’s TODAY!
