With Jupiter in active Aries, and Aries’ ruler Mars in Gemini going direct, January is a busy month and one that brings success to those who move, and speak. We’ll have things to do. Our motions, however, won’t be merely mechanical. Aries is physical; yet among other things, Jupiter rules meaning and faith, so both body and soul will be moving.
Mars is in the loquacious sign of Gemini, which means that a lot of our initiative has to do with words. But neither will our speaking be merely mechanical. Uranus, the planet of freedom, has had a key presence in recent months. As with the protests in Iran, there’s a growing urge to shake off stifling roles. This feeling grows even stronger in January, as Uranus plays a major role in both lunations, a role that flowers when the rebel planet stations to turn direct on the portal of the New Moon in Aquarius.
Mars also goes direct, and when these two want to run, nothing can hold them back. If Mars, Jupiter and Uranus could make this month a stallion, he would be a horse who talks. And as he gallops towards his goals he would be engaging with others, using his voice, and with it speaking his own authentic truth.
Not all is push and shout. Venus, planet of love and values, makes key transits, softening some edges and spotlighting connection. Like Gemini, she interacts. For all of January’s independence, relationships—including recovery from them—are a central theme from day one, literally. And, with heavies Mars and Uranus soon vying for the microphone, we would do well to update our connections, and ways of connecting, now.
On Sunday, January 1, Venus joins Pluto, the first of several transits made by the goddess-planet during the first half of January. This conjunction is not an aspect for light company: Venus and Pluto spark deep issues around connection, and can even be obsessive. We have a chance (disguised as a compulsion?) to dive in and transform our love nature, self-esteem, and close relationships (with people or money). Since both of these planets are in Capricorn, whose ruler Saturn has been under siege by rebel Uranus, a resuscitation of our love nature may have to do with recovery from the effects of patriarchy on our self-esteem and close relationships, as well as the strength to face hidden patterns.
Just as this conjunction starts to wane, newly empowered Venus brings another gift: one of the season’s best transits.….Yikes! Become a Premium subscriber and get the full story! SUBSCRIBE!
