June is luminous. The footlights shine on mental Mercury and bright Uranus, planets of lower and higher mind. A Solar Eclipse in Gemini intensifies a process that began in May, 2019, when North Node first entered the sign of the twins, elevating the status of study and transmission of knowledge/information. At Solstice, Sun will reach her highest and brightest point.
These influences, radiant as they may be, don’t flow easily. Five planets will be in retrograde, directing various energies inward. Among them, Mercury, ruler of the Sun and New Moon in Gemini, will be steering our thoughts and communications off the freeway and sending them down sideroads. And what stimulates Uranus’ vibrations isn’t the trine or sextile we might hope for, but a square from taskmaster Saturn! The planet of discipline stops the planet of freedom in its tracks, forcing it to get real, to organize and to structure the innovations it’s touting.
Emotionally, this can be a hair-raising ride. Over the last few years, our minds, self-expression and financial activities have been going through major shifts. Since Spring, 2019, Uranus’ transit through Taurus has been moving us to redefine our experience of security and explore new avenues of financial supply. And the North Node’s entrance into Gemini last May has been moving us to expand and share our ideas.
Now, with Mercury retrograde in Gemini and Saturn squaring Uranus, we are apt to feel somehow stuck. We have plans, have even put them in motion, but things are going slowly. Rather than moving by leaps and bounds, we are moving in jolts and stops. Both Saturn and Gemini can produce anxiety, so don’t be surprised if the lack of clear progress makes us even edgier than expected under the circumstances.
How can we find peace and move forward? With teacher planet Saturn in Aquarius, sign of wisdom, and retrograde Mercury ruling itself, the North Node, Sun and the Solar Eclipse all in Gemini, sign of information, this is the time to experience the atemporal joy of expanding….
