Tiptoe Among the Tidepools: General Astrological Influences for March, 2020

By Crystal Pomeroy

Astrological Influences March 2020, Daykeeper Journal Astrology
With Mercury, planet of perception, retrograding through Pisces, sign of intuition, and Aquarius, sign of higher reason, this is a month of altered consciousness.
If lately you’ve been finding yourself wondering whether you’re awake or in some kind of surrealistic dream, it’s probably due to Mercury’s retrograde in Pisces. You know you need something to ground you, and you wish you were in a list-making or alarm-setting mode, but you have more than usual resistance to following up. There can also be confusion. The fish wants to stay in the pretty waters and avoid the harsh truths of the surface, so the uncertainty or emotional fog may not get resolved. Fake news is on the upsurge, along with problems with travel, and emotional drama.

But it’s not all bad. While in Pisces, Mercury, also planet of thought, favors inner-directed activities: meditation, prayer, journaling, and dream work. We may have close encounters of the angelic kind. We may feel inclined to take a permanent spiritual retreat. Setbacks in communications may not just frustrate, but rather than spark us into action. (Pisces rules viruses and quarantines; the latter are a kind of involuntarily retreat that can nonetheless be applied in prayer, meditation and inner work in general.) If you identify with any of this, you can expect more of the same from Sunday, March 1 to Tuesday, March 3.

On Wednesday, March 4, the planet of thought backs into Aquarius, where it’s exalted as its rational potential expands. Through Sunday, March 15, this transit gives us a chance to come up for air and see things in a clearer, more objective light.

Does that mean they’ll seem more normal? Remember, Mercury is still retrograde, drawing our thinking more inward than out. Also, Mercury again begins to retrograde through Aquarius, the sign of the water bearer, who is curious and always on the lookout for alternative versions, so we’re apt to see things in a new light. We can get our thoughts in order, research effectively, and come up with creative solutions for the seeming confusion. We can expect hopeful or freeing news about the Corona virus. But this transit isn’t about waiting for media dictates. Media is ruled by Pisces, while Aquarius focuses on independent research.

During this 12-day period from March 4 through March 15, the aspects will fuel both intuitive and analytical perception. On Sunday, March 8, Venus, goddess of love and values, squares….Become a Premium subscriber and read all about it right now! SUBSCRIBE NOW
