Somewhere in the midst of all the fireworks and monument upgrades, the competing nonpartisan and partisan 250th birthday celebrations, the gilding and ballroom-building, and the Octagon-style cage matches on the White House lawn, is a weakened, tired, mentally-challenged old man, tuning 80 and facing his mortality. Badly.
Donald J. Trump, 45th & 47th President of the United States, turns 80 on 14 June 2026, though his actual Solar Return (the moment annually when the Sun reaches its birth degree and minute) clocks in the night before, at 6:44 PM EDT in Washington, DC. Up all night sending mean tweets (or memes that cast him in heroic, often blasphemous, poses), asleep during the day at Cabinet meetings in which he visibly has no interest (beyond the inevitable round of slavering ring-and-butt-kissing from his Department heads), Trump is failing, in more ways than one.
Try as he might, Trump cannot avoid his decline and demise. No amount of monument-buffing, name-appropriation, or White House demolition and redesign can prevent, or even delay, the inevitable. One day, Donald Trump will be dead. And not too long after that, his name will be a hissing and a byword for corruption, malfeasance and incompetence in the American presidency. He, and the lickspittles that populate his administration, will be consigned to the ash heap of history, assuming there’s anything left after his tenure in the Oval Office.
But in the meantime, there is The Donald. And it remains an open question, as to whether or not he’s up to the challenges poised to befall him in his 81st year, as viewed through the lens of his Solar Return chart.

Top of the list is the mental and physical decline which seems to pick up speed daily. Trump has had four “routine” physical exams since starting his second term, at roughly six-month intervals from April 2025 through April 2026, but with an unexplained reprise in May 2026, just a month later. Are things getting worse?
We’ve all seen the pictures of the bloated, bruised hands (from handshaking, the White House Press Office maintains), the slowing gait, the muted, lackadaisical performance at the few public appearances he undertakes. The Moon is the primary astrologic marker of health (with the Sun representing vitality in general). Trump’s Solar Return (hereafter abbreviated “SR”) Moon at 6 Gemini is exactly conjunct asteroid Ceres 1, also conjunct Uranus at 1 Gemini, squared Damocles 5335 at 10 Pisces, semisquare asteroids Anubis1912 and Osiris 1923 at 18 and 20 Cancer, and sesquiquadrate asteroid Nemesis 128 at 20 Capricorn.

Uranus, in addition to having associations with madness, is the planetary ruler of strokes. It can signal a sudden crisis, perhaps health-related, and could indicate some issue with the body’s electrical system. Ceres rules nutrition – could Trump’s notoriously poor, fast-food diet, be finally catching up with him? Damocles is the looming threat or peril hanging unseen above, about to descend at any moment, with disastrous results; in this case, a possible sudden health crisis. Anubis and Osiris are both death indicators, named respectively for the ancient Egyptians’ deity governing funerary rites, and their god of the dead. Nemesis is noted as a source of ruin and destruction, often self-created.
Put that all together, and it’s not a positive diagnosis for the coming year.
The Moon isn’t alone in its warnings of death and dementia. The Sun has a fair number of similar encumbrances. Natally, with the Sun conjoined Uranus, there is a latent innate potential for Trump to acquire dementia or some form of mental illness (as if the overt narcissistic megalomania isn’t enough), but the SR doubles down on this with asteroid Ophelia 171 conjunct the Sun, precisely from the 17 Gemini degree which natal Uranus occupies, potentially magnifying its effects, or yielding quirky, eccentric outcomes.
Ophelia is named for the tragic character in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” who goes insane and drowns herself in a river. In this case, if Trump should be casting about for a suitable self-destruction venue, I suggest the newly refurbished Reflecting Pool, recently repainted “American flag blue” in a no-bid contract by a former Trump contractor, to the tune of $13.1 million of taxpayer dollars—which is now, a vivid algae-green. Ironically, Ophelia’s main complaint is feeling unloved and rejected, a sensation Donald Trump should be getting used to, given his sliding poll numbers.

Transit Uranus is itself overemphasized in the chart; at 1 Gemini, it closely conjoins the 0 Gemini Descendant, giving it Angular heft and impact. This increases the likelihood of continued, perhaps increased, erratic behaviors, sudden outbursts, shocking acts and rhetoric, and possible mental breakdown.
A conjunction with TNO Sedna 90377 at 0 Gemini harks back to the Ophelia theme of rejection, just one of the many keywords the complex mythology of this point evokes. Named for an Inuit goddess who dwells in the deepest, most inaccessible part of the Arctic Ocean, Sedna symbolizes isolation, and one version of her story has her as both the active and passive participant in rejection scenarios. Courted by many suitors but rejecting them all, Sedna is eventually forced by her father to accept a demonic spirit in disguise. When daddy finally catches wise and comes to rescue her, the fleeing pair are assailed by storms sent by the angered spirit, and in an attempt to save himself, Sedna’s father throws her from their boat, and chops off her fingers as she attempts to cling to its side. The isolation (Sedna) Trump feels via his rejection (Sedna) by formerly stalwart supporters could be enough to push him over the edge (Uranus).
Also in this mix is asteroid Swindle 8680 at 1 Gemini, suggesting a fraud or deception. Allied with these other energies (and the Moon addressed above), we see a mental breakdown (Uranus) prompted by rejection (Sedna) from the people (Moon), who feel cheated (Swindle) that Trump, far from fixing the economic problems they hired him to address, has made them worse via his trade wars and the conflict with Iran, remaining focused on vanity projects important only to him, and actually downplays and dismisses the affordability crisis as a “hoax.”
Dwarf planet expert Sue Kientz describes this Sedna/Uranus/Descendant/Swindle grouping as “other people are a supreme downer to his efforts, because he’s not even hiding his supreme crookedness (Swindle). His schemes are clever and unusual (Uranus) but only so because they are so outrageous and egregious that no one in history would ever have even imagined doing such things.” Judging by the recent pushback on his vanity projects and quest for revenge by the courts and even some Republican senators, if taken as emblematic of the year ahead, we’ve got good evidence that this is playing out in real time.

As well, asteroid MANIAC 228029 at 13 Cancer conjoins SR Mercury at 17 Cancer, both atop natal asteroids Nemesis and Bilk 4425 at 16 Cancer. MANIAC should be fairly obvious in this context, and its conjunction with Mercury augurs more unhinged rhetoric, mental lapses and insane ideas or behaviors. Bilk again addresses the sense that Trump has defrauded his supporters, forced to pay for his trade policies at the checkout stand and his wars at the gas pump, as well as funding the endless stream of gilding and renovation via taxation, leading to Trump’s ruin and self-undoing (Nemesis).
This pairing is squared by a cosmic triplicate, of TNO Makemake 136472 and asteroid Achilles 588, both at 10 Libra, and asteroid Pandora 55 at 14 Libra. The asteroids are both at station, adding additional power and force. Makemake can have an “unhinged” feel to it as well, though in some cases, it indicates genius and an understanding so far ahead of its time as to seem crazy (I think we can feel certain that this is not the type of Makemake energy which Trump displays, though he himself undoubtedly thinks so). To quote Sue Kientz again, “His former ‘genius’ is looking more like insanity or senility, and so is a liability now. Where in his first term he seemed able to pull rabbits out of his hat, he now unwittingly unleashes a veritable plague of locusts; for example, supporters’ financial pictures plummet, farmers face similar ruin.”

Speaking of unleashing things, that’s where Pandora comes in. The first woman created (as per Greek myth), she of the celebrated Box fame, Pandora was warned not to open her box, a poison pill masquerading as a wedding present from the gods, but of course she does so, and all the evils of the world come streaming out. In context, we can see how Trump’s decisions (Mercury), such as the tariff wars and the Iran conflict, are unleashing a host of ills on Americans of every stripe, including his most fervent supporters.
Achilles refers to a weakness or vulnerability, a fatal flaw inherent in the individual, which threatens to destroy him. We see again that his flawed decision-making process (which may itself be a sign of incipient madness) lies at the root of his increasing weakness. Still strong with the base, Trump’s overall approval rating is clanging around the mid-30s, lower than at any point in either term. Exactly aligned with Makemake, this could be an indicator that the potential for mental breakdown inherent in the birth chart is ready to become a tangible reality.

Markers of mortality associated with the SR Sun include asteroid Atropos 273 at 15 Aquarius (named for the mythic Greek Fate who severs the thread of life at death), trine the Sun, which is embedded at station, making “endings” of whatever sort a prominent theme of the coming year; and asteroid Lachesis120 at 21 Virgo (Atropos’ sister, who determines the span of life), forming a T-Square with the Sun and SR asteroid Troemper 28130, opposed the Sun from 24 Sagittarius and personalizing “end of life” issues to this year in particular.
The Sun also lies at the Apex of a Yod, a “fated” pattern also known as the Finger of Destiny, with inconjunct aspects to asteroids Justitia 269 at 17 Scorpio, named for the Roman goddess of justice, and Nemesis at 20 Capricorn, that retributive agent of punishment and rectifying an imbalance. The implication here is of a predestined comeuppance in some form; with the Justice Department under the control of the likes of former Trump personal attorney Todd Blanche, Nemesis’ retribution is unlikely to come from that quarter, but there are other ways justice can be served.

Connections from the SR to the natal chart reinforce the sense that this could be a critical year, brought on at least in part by the pressures of the presidency. SR Neptune at 4 Aries exactly squares natal asteroid Whitehouse at 4 Capricorn, forming a T-Square with its natal degree of 5 Libra. Neptune is another energy associated with derangement and deterioration; while the natal square to Whitehouse suggests the presidency could make him more vulnerable to this generally, the reinforcement in real time from SR Neptune confirms it as a distinct possibility in the present tense.
As well, natal Whitehouse is squared by SR asteroids Rip 7711 at 9 Aries and Requiem 2254 at 4 Libra, and conjoined by SR asteroid Libitina 3546 at 6 Capricorn, forming another T-Square. All three are death indicators, and allied to Whitehouse could signal a death while in office. Rip represents the acronym RIP, “Rest In Peace,” a common tombstone inscription; Requiem is named for the funeral mass for the dead; and Libitina is named for the Roman goddess of burials. A Grand Cross is completed by natal Whitehouse’s exact opposition to TNO Chaos 19521 at 4 Cancer, which ensures that Trump, as president, will continue to spread his patented brand of disorder, anarchy, confusion and pandemonium. Whereas transit Chaos stalked his Sun for the entirety of his first term, focusing its energies on Trump personally, it has now moved on to oppose the symbol of the presidency, spreading the chaos nationwide.
SR asteroid Whitehouse at 3 Aquarius also provides an avenue into expiry in office, with its conjunction to SR Pluto, modern lord of death, at 5 Aquarius. This is also a comment on the criminality, lawlessness, and corruption of the second Trump administration.

Eclipses in the coming year emphasize Trump’s natal Angles, always a sign of big things brewing. The 12 August 2026 Solar Eclipse at 20 Leo squares his 24 Taurus Midheaven, perhaps marking a time when his reputation is dimmed further. The subsequent Lunar Eclipse of 28 August at 4 Pisces conjoins the 29 Aquarius Descendant, potentially prompting rifts in his relationships – will this fracture his base’s support? The following Lunar Eclipse at 2 Virgo on 20 February 2027 will conjoin the 29 Leo Ascendant, evoking noticeable changes in how others see him, and perhaps more marked physical decline.
The only eclipse for the period which doesn’t follow this pattern is the Solar Eclipse on February 6, 2027 at 17 Aquarius. Notably, it conjoins that stationary asteroid Anubis from the Solar Return, enhancing mortality risks for the ensuing six months. Natally, there is an exact square to asteroid Lie 26955 at 17 Taurus, which should have an effect on Trump’s relationship with the truth. Ordinarily, I’d suggest this as an indication that Trump’s lies will increase, but I’m not sure that’s humanly possible. Alternately, it could refer to a diminution, or “eclipsing” of the lies; but again, unless a laryngectomy is performed, robbing Trump of speech, concomitant with the loss of his stubby typing fingers to prevent social media posts, I see nothing on heaven or earth that will stem that tide.
