Astrological Influences February 2025: Grab the Dreams You Can Carry

By Susan Pomeroy

A fish, embodying Pisces' spirit, leaps into a net above shimmering water, with sunlight casting bright bokeh in the background. The scene hints at the astrological influences of January 2025, echoing the transformative energy of a Mars-Pluto opposition.

The New Year brings a slew of positive shifts, including sign changes for the Nodes, for Jupiter and for Uranus. The numerology of January is pioneering 1, favoring new beginnings. But, during this January, we’re mostly still recalibrating to find traction with our goals. January is named for the god Janus, whose symbol is a two-February is a month of renewal. As the Sun reaches his midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, he awakens the earth’s dormant forces. Aquarius is the sign of awakening and Pisces, of the higher self. February combines these archetypes.

This particular month, though, doesn’t seem so cheerful. When anything as upsetting as the current political scenario arises, you can bet that outer planets, and almost certainly Pluto, are involved. Having entered Aquarius definitively in January, Pluto, the planet of involuntary alchemy, is now making a revolutionary push.

Another more subtle but equally important movement comes from the planetary alignment in Pisces that flowers in February, eroding existing structures and bringing a surge of compassion, intuition, and creative energies. They can bring solace, healing, unity and spiritual power.

But this isn’t any fluffy Pisces dreamland. On his way out of the sweet sign, ruler Neptune activates the critical Aries point, triggering a dynamic release of the previous cycle while activating a new one. In orb of a sextile to Pluto, Neptune dredges the dreams that like fish have been swimming in the depths for the last 14 years and pulls them up into view. Pisces is a dual sign, and we get a look at diverse underwater critters, everyone from the creeps to the angels. The former are the chimeras, the fantasies and the dreams of others we were netted into, and the latter, magical treasures—prayers that have been answered, spiritual gifts that have awakened, shining creative inspirations, and compassionate works.

As this varied catch comes to light, disappointment may seem overwhelming, we may feel like we’re nuts for succumbing to fantasy. Avoid the temptation to throw all the harvest back into the sea. Neptune only visits his home sign once in a lifetime, and there are miracles mixed in with the plastic waste. Now’s the time to empty the net on the beach, do a forgiveness ritual for oneself and all involved, and seek out the jewels.

As Neptune slowly progresses in the last and first of the zodiac, he’s joined this month by North Node, harbinger of fortune, and Venus, planet of love and values. This triple conjunction activates great love, unity, and opportunities to move forward with the treasures harvested from Neptune’s visit to mysterious depths. Worker Saturn also transits Pisces, as does Sun towards the end of the month. This is a time to honor our inner ocean, pick up the dreams that lie shining among the ruins, and move forward in the rest of a year that requires all we can give.

As the month begins, Pluto in Aquarius is transforming the people. Sometimes, the planet of alchemy does whatever’s necessary to promote renewal, and in Aquarius, this means the shit (Pluto’s specialty) has hit the fan (from where it flies through the Aquarian air). The world as we knew it no longer seems secure. The shock effect can be so intense that we feel disoriented. What are those in power doing to our world? When the dust settles, what will be left?

In Pluto’s little black bag, there’s a vial filled with a potent substance: fear. We hear about the importance of overcoming this emotion that generates anxiety, worry and panic and from a metaphysical standpoint, can block the flow of our good. On an inner level, transmuting fear can produce miracles. However, fear can be useful. It’s a …
