A “Void Moon” or “Void of Course Moon” (or “VOC moon” for short) makes no significant aspects until it enters the next sign. Its void period is thought to be a poor time for starting new projects or making concerted effort toward existing plans.
According to William Lilly, the Moon in Cancer (Moon’s rulership), Taurus (Moon’s exaltation), Sagittarius and Pisces (signs ruled by Jupiter, the Great Benefic) “performeth somewhat.” Lee Lehmann reports that she has tested this, and “you can take it to the bank.” Another way of putting how this works in an astrological forecast is that, when an action is taken during the void period in one of these signs, you get “unanswered success.” That is, the lack of planetary action prevents your action from being denied.
A pre-dawn connection from Moon to Neptune, the illusionist, can make for vivid dreams and imaginative jokes this April Fool’s morning. We might write a love poem with an alias, disguise ourselves as someone else, or do a make-believe channeling—Virgo Moon can use a laugh or two—and it can be a bit serious, especially this evening as it harmonizes with Pluto, Mr. Deep, and Chiron, the wounded healer. It’s propitious for working on healing, uncovering roots of emotional or physical issues, and injecting our goals with power.
Affirmation:
Allies of lightness, please help me create humor and find the joy in healing and manifestation now.
Moon is VOC in Virgo most of the day, technically not so good for productivity. However, creativity surges with Mercury, Moon’s ruler, in dynamic Aries and in harmony to Saturn, the builder, in Sagittarius. Sun is in trine to Jupiter in Leo, sign of artists. The combination favors writing affirmations for ourselves and others, doing first drafts of art, design or writing, uncluttering our medicine chest or desk, sticking to an exercise or diet routine, helping someone who happens to cross our path and organizing books in a relaxed manner.
Affirmation:
I do simple things with love, and my life is act of healing now.
Moon in Libra makes for a sociable and refined week close. It sextiles Saturn in Sagittarius this morning, facilitating progress in our dealings with others, particularly in the area of our chart occupied by the archer, where Saturn is currently backing up and giving us a chance to organize, move through pending bureaucracy and get grounded for greater success. We should try to use the morning strategically, as an afternoon opposition from Moon in Libra to Mercury, the communicator, in feisty Aries, isn’t so great for communication in business, work or in an already tense relationship. It can, however make for a fun outing, particularly if it’s a first date or to see a humorous movie, play or show. This afternoon and evening, we should exercise special caution to avoid speeding, texting at the wheel, or mixing drinking with driving.
Affirmation:
My success is governed by spiritual law, so it manifests in perfect order now.
This is a power day, and worth taking time off to center within and synchronize with the Total Lunar Eclipse in Libra that takes place at 5:06 am (8:06 am ET).
The Sabian symbol for 15 degrees Libra describes, “Circular paths; coming to terms with the inevitability of establishing steady rhythms of social activity.”
Today’s Full Moon makes a T-square to the waning Uranus-Pluto connection. After almost three years of fighting to recover our authentic voice and find release from oppression during the Uranus-Pluto square, this Full Moon brings in another side of the story, calling for cooperation with others.
Our world has changed, we have shaken off the shackles of false interaction and obeisance to social ritual, and Luna now conjuncts the North Node, reminding us that freedom is not selfishness; it is authenticity, not egotism. Our old forms of relating are being eclipsed but this doesn’t mean we are to go it alone. Rather, we can find a more authentic, mindful way of cooperating and helping others. To tap this portal’s riches we may scan the last three years and ask ourselves what we’ve learned about relating, how our needs have changed and our ideals have evolved about what we want to give and receive. This exercise can help us renew our existing relationships, or facilitate shifts as we release stale connections and pursue those that are more in keeping with our unique way of exchanging energy.
On a mundane level, we may experience sudden endings and beginnings in our ties from now through the next six months. We should not be alarmed: the North Node conjuncts this Eclipse, indicating that new blessings will appear. Changes may come in a disruptive fashion on or around this weekend, when we do best to hold to our preferred spiritual practice and avoid incendiary encounters or situations of potential physical risk.
Affirmation:
I am guided to release ways of relating that no longer nourish my higher self, and I share from the heart now.
Easter is based on ancient celebrations of fertility and renewal that we can evoke today, connecting with their vibrations. However, the stars today offer more than a fancy breakfast or cellophane-wrapped bunnies, and this is an opportunity worth planning for.
Still on the portal of yesterday’s eclipse, creative Sun squares intense Pluto this morning. At 12:04 pm (3:04 ET), Moon enters Scorpio, sign of the deep, favoring calm contact with nature, healing and meditation. Even nighttime falls on with serious tone that favors overcoming psychic or creative challenges by ourselves or with very harmonious company, as Moon opposes Mars, its co-ruler, in Taurus.
As for Easter gatherings, choose them well and prepare an excuse or escape hatch just in case you get overloaded. Strategize to avoid arguments, crowds and glutting on screens or other numbing pastimes. It’s a day to keep it calm, reflective, and if we have some project we can work on independently, focusing on that is a good way to use the energy this evening.
Affirmation:
I have a deep connection with Earth’s growing forces and I grow divinely with them now.
The week begins with a bang, as Mercury the messenger trines Jupiter the publicist in fire signs, followed by an alignment of Sun in dynamic Aries with Uranus, planet of excitement. The intensity is best directed in bold, independent efforts, and promotion of our unique work or projects, preferably through social media or others broad scale outlets, rather than one-on-one.
Things get even more exciting when Moon in creative Scorpio squares Jupiter in spectacular Leo at 12:43 pm (3:43 ET). Creative juices flow and facilitate productive results in our focused efforts throughout the afternoon.
Affirmation:
The Master Creator of all that is creates powerfully through me now and always. Thank you, Divine Source.
Tuesday is related to Mars, god of passion and action and co-ruler of this morning’s Moon in Scorpio. A date for breakfast in bed, for two, would suit the mood… Or, skip the breakfast and make sparks fly between those sheets, or on the couch, or better yet in the woods!
If we’re not so hot for the sensual side of Mars, we can use his gifts to make the most of Scorpio’s offerings. We can schedule a session of therapy, hypnosis, shiatsu or acupuncture, journal about our feelings, research a challenging subject, or douse and dig for physical treasure.
Moon goes VOC at 1:42 pm (4:42 ET), on an opposition to Venus in Taurus. The afternoon continues to favor sensuality, passion and subterranean exploration, although the outcomes are less predictable. Favored: inner work on our abundance awareness.
Affirmation:
Spirit knows what needs to come to light and works to do that here and now. Thank you, Divine Source.
We can spread our wings and fly! Mercury the messenger in active Aries joins Uranus the Awakener before dawn, lighting a flame to inspiration. Then, Moon in Sagittarius joins Saturn, slowing us down and helping us make our new vision concrete.
At 9:57 am (12:57 ET), Spring potentials get unleashed when Jupiter goes direct. The air is cleared with a touch of lightness, our confidence that has somehow seemed clouded since last November resurges, and we can more easily express our enthusiasm, motivation and faith.
The planet of inspiration rules today’s Moon in Sagittarius, which makes an afternoon connection with Neptune in Pisces, sign of dreams. We can have fun this afternoon and evening, whether in a gathering with others of shared spirit, or by pouring ourselves into a project related to spirituality, promotion, creativity, teaching and/or altruistic goals.

This morning is great for inspired thinking, learning, teaching, and effective communication. Moon in Sagittarius, ruled by freshly direct Jupiter, makes a series of harmonies, first with brainy Uranus and Mercury, and then with dynamic Sun in Aries. Other propitious ways of flowing with today’s energies are: contact a group that interests you, pursue a learning opportunity, motivate yourself and others, and take an altruistic initiative with far reaching potential. Although Moon goes VOC at 10:42 am (1:42 ET), in Sagittarius it still radiates success. Stimulating thought and conversation continues into the evening as Mercury joins Sun in vibrant Aries, an aspect that lasts through tomorrow and also favors business, relating to children and fun in general.

With waning Moon in Capricorn, we can get down to business and tie up the week efficiently. We can review goals, and see how we can finish what we started.
This evening, as Moon harmonizes with Mars in fertile Taurus, we get a burst of energy to help with follow through. We can be productive into the evening and even consolidate creative initiatives and projects.
We can also enjoy dinner with a work partner, male friend or sensual prospect. A connection between Moon and sensitive Neptune in Pisces favors watching an inspiring movie, consulting an oracle and incubating dreams.
Affirmation for incubating dreams by repeating ten times while sitting on the edge of the bed before going to sleep: I ask my inner wisdom to show me the truth about (name of situation), in a clear dream I remember on waking. Thank you, inner wisdom.
Change is in the air. The Moon shifts to fourth quarter in Capricorn, and Venus leaves the steadfast terrain of Taurus for the facile airs of Gemini, where it incites us to think and talk about our relationships, and also to value, beautify and even prosper through our communications.
Moon in Capricorn triggers the waning Uranus-Pluto square as it connects with each of them, and then moves on to harmonize with healer Chiron.
The Sabian symbol for today’s fourth quarter Moon, says: a DEFEATED GENERAL YIELDS UP HIS SWORD WITH NOBLE DIGNITY. Apparent defeat that spells real spiritual victory.
In our less martial personal worlds, we can review our points of view, check for ego postures we’ve built false identities around, and lighten up as we move into a more flowing attitude.
Contemplation, meditation, therapy, forgiveness, and other low-key healing work are all propitious. We will feel better avoiding strident encounters or risky situations involving vehicles or machinery, and shouldn’t be afraid to work on ourselves.

This morning favors a swim, street theater, laughter yoga, dancing, walking meditation or simply a quiet walk in nature, as active Mars in earthy Taurus harmonizes with mystical Neptune. At 10:44 am (1:44 ET), Moon enters Aquarius and trines Venus in talkative Gemini. Enjoy brunch or lunch with friends or a special someone, go to a talk or neighborhood rally, or do anything fun with good company. This same friendly Moon trines Saturn in Sagittarius tonight, great for writing and organizing our week, particularly in relation to people we wish to connect with.

Moon in Aquarius opens windows of opportunity as it connects with fortunate Jupiter early this morning and later harmonizes with Uranus. With Sun in active Aries, the paths are clear and we can make headway with projects we started before the Full Moon of April 5. This combo favors visualizing desired results and moving on what really matters.

This morning, Moon in sociable, cybernetic Aquarius harmonizes with determined Sun and communicative Mercury in Aries, sign of action. We can use it for networking, focusing on projects relating to children or art, sending pending messages or announcements, or working on a blog or Internet promotion. Connecting with people who can inject life into our personal or volunteer projects is favored before Mercury enters Taurus and slows things down at 3:51 pm (6:51 ET), and Moon enters Pisces with aspects that favor independent creativity and spiritual work.

Moon joins Neptune in Pisces early this morning, bringing light to our dreams and power to our prayers. Moon moves on to make a series of productive connections to heavy players Mars, Jupiter and Pluto, in an interesting alliance of sensitivity and courage. This day favors getting clear on what we want, creating a picture of it in our mind, and taking whatever audacious steps we can as we hold to that picture. The connection from our inmost faith to the outer world is direct. We can protect its power by avoiding petty conversations or discussing our vision with anyone who is not a key player in its manifestation.
A bedtime session of healing affirmations channels Moon’s nighttime fusion with Chiron.

Pluto goes retrograde, giving a boost to our powers of transformation, healing and regeneration. Moon in Pisces connects with Chiron, and we can welcome that power as we focus on inner work and healing for ourselves and others.
At 2:00 pm (5:00 pm ET), Moon enters Aries, helping us direct the search for empowerment in daring initiatives—to express ourselves, defend another or promote a project or cause. A trine to structured Saturn can bless our efforts with tangible results this afternoon and evening.

The excitement transmitter is on, with a chain of aspects featuring the energy of Mars. While we slept, Moon in hot Aries harmonized with Venus, the love goddess who sweetened our dreams.
This morning’s electricity can shake us out of oneiric paradise, and call upon us to move. Moon in Aries gets revved up by a trine with Jupiter, the promoter planet, in the big-shot sign of Leo. Focused, audacious actions can get positive attention.
The Mars-ruled Moon goes on to square Pluto in rigid Capricorn, activating our emotional sensitivities around themes of freedom and control and helping us look at our emotional attachment to those issues.
Not content to stir things up by ruling the Moon, warrior Mars confronts Jupiter; both planets are in creative but fixed and stubborn signs. This combination can be inspirational, revitalizing and expanding of confidence so that we can go where no man, or woman, has gone before, crossing the barriers of propriety and getting through to people in high places. However, we are cautioned to think before we leap and choose our words carefully, to avoid coming off like a fundamentalist preacher.
Things do not calm down by sunset as one might expect. Moon kisses the day goodbye with a firecracker when it conjuncts Uranus this afternoon (evening on the East Coast).
In other words, this is a window for deeds of courage and promotional prowess. But to reap its fruits, we need to center in harmony, strive for diplomacy and be prepared to flow if things don’t go as planned, rather than lose a friend or go home with a metaphorical black eye.

This will be the last New Moon before Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow period. Considering its placement in Aries, the Sabian symbol for this lunation is surprisingly harmonious: A CELESTIAL CHOIR HAS ARISEN TO SING COSMIC HARMONIES… At-one-ment of consciousness with cosmic powers. Harmonic understanding and faith in the order and meaning of life.
The sign of the ram gives extra energy to this lunation’s beginnings. At the same time, the above image reminds us that even in our supposed autonomy we are never truly alone. As we move ahead with faith and awareness of our unity, the actions we take become part of the song of the cosmos.
New Moon will be exact at 11:57 am (2:57 pm ET). Moon then goes VOC, so the first morning hours are the best time to write down intentions or make an important new start. We can also wait until after 2:31 pm (5:31 ET), when Moon goes into fertile Taurus, where it is exalted and propitious for business, making a dream board or anything related to material abundance.

This is not just another Sunday. An early square from Venus, planet of love, to Neptune, ruler of dreams, is followed by a harmony from Moon in sensual Taurus to Neptune. Feel the fire as you write to the angels, meditate on love, cuddle in bed and if there’s no one to do that with, visualize your dream partner. An early connection from Moon to Mercury in Taurus is good for writing abundance affirmations or communicating with your partner, and it’s wise to use it, since at midday the aspects get a bit more intense. Moon square Jupiter, conjunct Mars and later trine Pluto can be energizing and inspirational, great for hearing a Sunday service or participating in a Shamanic circle or Sufi dance. Hold to center and be mindfully diplomatic.
Sun enters Taurus, and our focus shifts from activity for its own sake to an interest in stability and abundance. These vibrations are multiplied by the Moon’s placement, also in Taurus, where it’s exalted and helps prosper the fruits of today’s efforts despite being VOC.
Moon enters Gemini at 4:28 pm (7:28 ET), making for a mentally stimulating afternoon and evening. Its ruler, Mercury, in fertile Taurus, squares enthusiastic Jupiter in Leo. This combination can be quite inspired but favors independent creative work or promotion at-a-distance more than direct contact with others, which could become incendiary. We can use the days well from now through April 25, when Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow period.
Sweetness and intensity are nicely balanced and can be expressed in thought, word and deed, facilitating accomplishment and connections with others. Moon joins Venus in Gemini, our feeling nature radiates love and our communication can charm a romantic prospect, dear ones, clients or even a snake. Favorable: an encounter or call we’ve been putting off.
Not all is warm and fuzzy, though. Mars trines Pluto the boss, bringing courage to our hearts and efficacy to our efforts. Also, Moon harmonizes with Jupiter, the promoter, and connects with Pluto. This is a day to knock on doors, generate brilliant ideas, and overcome challenges in relationship, work or healing.

A morning trine from Mercury in grounded Taurus to Pluto, the digger, helps us get to the bottom of something. We can discover previously elusive information, produce a granitic argument or presentation, and find clarity on the subtle dynamics of our minds and relationships.
This can help us prepare for the social connections when Venus in talkative Gemini harmonizes with optimistic Jupiter at mid-morning. We can express our love and gratitude, purchase clothing, accessories or books, share an opulent gift, convince a heartthrob to go out, grandpa to lend us the summer home, or a client to buy our wares or contract our services. The promotional vibrations continue this afternoon, although prudence is advised as Mercury joins with Mars in stubborn Taurus. Take a singular, penetrating initiative and leave the results to a higher power as you visualize success.

It’s a mystical, magical day as Moon in sensitive Cancer trines Neptune in psychic Pisces. Especially favored is any endeavor connected to the sacred feminine: healing, forgiveness, connecting with positive spiritual forces, and caring for someone in need, including Mother Nature. The energies are powerful for inner work, but also for public or business activities related to these or similar fields, since Mercury will enter its pre-retrograde shadow period in a few days, and Taurus Sun helps ground abundance.

Your quantum twin flew high last night and returns with genius inspiration this morning, when sensitive Moon squares brilliant Uranus. A chain of harmonies involving Moon, Mercury and Chiron are propitious for communication throughout the day. The healing power of our words grows and can be used in EFT, mantras and affirmations, or indirectly by sharing ideas that help generate love and forgiveness for ourselves and others.
Tonight, a special date can rekindle a cold flame or light a new one. Passion is in the air.
First Quarter Moon in Leo (4:55 pm PT, 7:55 pm ET) helps us look at our projects, lives and others with loving kindness. The Sabian symbol describes how an OLD-FASHIONED BELLE AND FLAPPER ADMIRE EACH OTHER. Realization of changeless subjective worth beyond changing appearances. Interchange of sympathy. Enhanced self-awareness.
The emphasis on looking within coincides with Mercury’s entrance in the pre-retrograde shadow period. We are invited to begin a nine-week period of seeing others and ourselves in a light of compassion beyond the labels of culture and style, which, as the image above reminds us, are particularly tough on women.
From a mundane perspective, a trine from Moon to Saturn makes this a good day to share lunch with co-workers while planning or finishing a project.

Fun with children and with the child within are favored today, as Moon in playful Leo connects with jovial Jupiter, sweet Venus and exciting Uranus and Mars. A day at the beach, a trip to the Exploratorium or games of any kind help release tension and reconnect with humor. Venus in busy Gemini harmonizes with Uranus, romance can be exciting and if you’re single, you could meet someone new. (In that case, you might decide to leave the kids at home with grandma or aunty.)

Creative Leo Moon makes an early morning square to Mercury in Taurus, sign of abundance. This is an especially potent morning to visualize prosperity and success just after waking. At 7:12 am (10:12 ET), Moon goes VOC in Leo, where it will be most of the day. This is a wonderful day to simply take off to enjoy friends, children, pets, or a picnic on the beach. If you must work, enjoy your own company and leave key initiatives and purchases for tomorrow morning, or this evening when Moon enters Virgo at 6:07 pm (9:07 pm ET).

Moon in organized Virgo trines Sun in steadfast Taurus, so we can make headway on practical endeavors this morning. By midday, the go-getter window has shifted, to be replaced by a downpour of creativity, a bit of surrealism and possibly some confusion when Moon opposes Neptune in Pisces. Especially favored: avoiding making key agreements or obsessing over particulars, leaving key details for another day, and catching up on good intentions to help someone just for the love of it.

Moon in Virgo helps us get the boring but necessary details taken care of: organizing papers and computer files, tackling administrative tasks, and related follow-up. This morning Virgo expands its potential. Stressful aspects with Uranus, Lord of Weirdness, and Chiron, the Wounded Healer, facilitate independent introspection, journaling, self-care, visiting a healer professional, starting a fast or attending someone in crisis. Things begin to really roll at midday, when Moon trines Mars in persistent Taurus, and Sun, also in Taurus makes a creative, compassionate harmony to Neptune in Pisces.

Venus has the day, and her energies favor social connection, as Moon emerges from its VOC status and enters Libra at 7:03 am (10:03 am ET). The love goddess also rules Mercury, so our connections can be both sensual, and with a lunar harmony to Saturn, constructive. This evening Mercury shifts into Gemini, and our minds are busy and our conversations stimulating.
