Late on 14 August, 2023, Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis finally issued her long-awaited indictment against former US President Donald J. Trump and 18 cohorts in the 2020 election interference case. The 98-page indictment contains 41 counts of alleged criminal activity, mostly charged under Georgia’s RICO racketeering laws, created for dealing with organized crime groups. In addition to the codefendants, 30 more individuals are mentioned as unindicted coconspirators, making it one of the largest such cases on record.
Also charged with Trump are former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Trump lawyers Rudy Guiliani and Sidney Powell. Willis alleges in the indictment that rather than abide by Georgia’s legal process for election challenges, the defendants engaged in a criminal racketeering enterprise to overturn Georgia’s presidential election result, including the now-infamous taped phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where Trump asked him to “find” the number of votes needed to flip the state his way.
Among the 13 charges directly specifically toward Trump are: violating Georgia’s racketeering act; solicitation of violation of oath by public officer; conspiracy to impersonate a public officer; conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree; and false statements and writings and filing false documents. This is the fourth criminal indictment against Trump in as many months, and likely one of the most fraught with peril. If Trump is convicted on federal charges, he could (should he become the 2024 GOP presidential nominee and win that election) in theory self-pardon for any prior offenses—or any subsequent Republican president could do so. But state crimes are not included in a federal presidential pardon, and while it’s true that Georgia has a Republican governor, it’s also true that the Peach State is just one of two in the US which doesn’t grant pardon power to its chief executive. Rather, pardons are administered by a Board of Pardons and Parole, and convicted felons are not eligible to apply for a pardon until after they have served their sentences. Game, set, and match.
Contemporaneous news reports stated that Fani Willis read out the charges at a press conference “just before midnight,” so I have used 11:55 PM EDT in Atlanta as a ballpark time for casting the chart. As ever, the skies reflect the facts on the ground.
DA Fani Willis is doubly highlighted by angular placement, with asteroid Willis 13730 at 13 Taurus conjoined the 10 Taurus Ascendant, the public face of the indictment, and asteroid Fanny 821 (for Fani) at 19 Capricorn conjoined the 25 Capricorn MC, the focus of all eyes. Also here is Pluto at 28 Capricorn, ruling criminal acts, while Willis is conjoined by Jupiter at 14 Taurus, ruling the courts and administration of justice generally.
The Sun at 22 Leo exactly squares Uranus at 22 Taurus, suggesting the shocking, albeit increasingly commonplace spectacle of a former US President indicted on criminal charges. The Sun is just moving into orb of its conjunction with asteroid Georgia 359 at 1 Virgo, highlighting that state for the timeframe. Georgia is also part of a Grand Cross with an opposition to asteroid Troemper 28130 (our celestial referent for The Donald), exact with Damocles 5335 (impending doom) at 0 Pisces and Saturn (punishment, the law) at 4 Pisces. The crossbars are formed by asteroid Themis 24 (named for the Greek goddess of justice) at 1 Gemini and d’Arrest 9133 (arrest, indictments, charges filed) at 2 Sagittarius (which exactly conjoins Trump’s natal Troemper).
Trump and his more high-profile codefendants also have PNAs (Personal-Named Asteroids) that interact with Pluto, ruling criminality in all its forms, as well as coercion and manipulation, which played leading roles in the alleged crimes, as Trump & Co tried to pressure others, from election poll workers to the Vice President of the United States, to fall in with their schemes. Trump here is seen as asteroid Donn 4689, which at 26 Libra squares Pluto at 28 Capricorn. Rudy Guiliani is represented by asteroid Juliana 816 (phonetic sibling of Giuliani), which at 27 Aries opposes Donn and also squares Pluto, forming a T-Square. A Grand Cross is completed by asteroid Powell 9739 at 28 Cancer, exactly opposed Pluto, for Sidney Powell, the Trump Campaign lawyer who headed “Team Crazy,” spinning wild theories about electoral fraud which were never backed up by evidence.
Giuliani is also highlighted by asteroid Rudolf 44613 conjunct the 8 Leo Moon from 11 Leo, also squared Willis/Jupiter at 13/14 Taurus, defining the conflict (square) with the DA (Willis) and the judicial system (Jupiter). His indictment on racketeering charges is especially ironic, given that he first made a name for himself early in his career as a New York DA by prosecuting mob members, and will now be prosecuted under the same statutes, as his career ends.
Two more names you might recognize are John Eastman, the former Trump lawyer who devised the flawed theory that VP Pence could reject the Electoral College votes at the January 6 certification of the election; and Jeffrey Clark, a former Trump Department of Justice official whom Trump briefly considered installing as Attorney General, more compliant in the “stolen election” matter than Bill Barr. John Eastman is represented by asteroid Johney 90308, which at 28 Libra exactly squares Pluto, feeding into that Grand Cross. Jeffrey Clark is seen as asteroid Clarke 4923 (alternate spelling), which at 11 Gemini is sesquiquadrate Pluto.
The only topflight codefendant without a PNA connecting to Pluto is former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. But he’s still well in evidence, with asteroid Meadows 4600 at 5 Cancer, conjunct asteroids Fulton 5785 (for Fulton County, which is bringing the indictment) and Nemesis 128 (a source of ruin or undoing), at 8 and 9 Cancer, with asteroid Marc 71445 (alternate spelling) in square to this cluster from 3 Aries. His lack of connection with Pluto, and alliance (by conjunction and square) with Nemesis, suggests to me that Meadows may turn state’s evidence and inform on Trump in an effort to avoid penalty for his own criminal acts.
That transit Nemesis placement is also noteworthy in that it is about to return to its natal degree of 16 Cancer, at the end of August and beginning of September, affording a reset of Trump’s innate potential to create his own self-undoing. In this he could well be assisted by Marc Meadows (born 28 July 1959, no time available), given that his natal Nemesis at 22 Gemini is an exact match for Donald Trump’s Sun. Meadows’ natal d’Arrest at 15 Scorpio is highlighted in this indictment chart by conjunction with the 10 Scorpio Descendant and opposition from Willis and Jupiter at 13 and 14 Taurus, activating Meadows’ potential for being indicted (d’Arrest), facilitated specifically by the Fulton Couty DA (Willis).
Fani Willis is seeking to bring this case to trial within six months, which would place it smack dab in the middle of primary season, but given the complicated nature of the charges and the vast number of codefendants, that’s likely an unrealistic timeline. Nevertheless, a trial before the 2024 election seems assured. Whether it has an effect on the outcome is less certain.
