is the Egyptian underworld deity and precursor of Osiris and the originator of the ‘open mouth ceremony’ practiced by Egyptian priests to release the souls of the dead.
It should also be mentioned that 22 Sag is considered an unfortunate degree and Pholus (22 Sag 01) was posited there almost exactly together with Cupido (22 Sag 47). The exact conjunction of Pholus/Cupido occurs at 24 Sag 53 on 1/21/2015 at 18:29:20.
Asteroids Hiroshima (7 Cap) and Nagasaki (3 Cap) were widely conjunct Pluto and opposed Vesta/Moon/Lilith in Gemini. I believe these two asteroids represent the actual bombs and explosions. The midpoint Hiroshima/Nagasaki squared the conjunction of asteroid #666 (Desdemona, the tragic Shakepearean figure) with the midpoint of Uranus/Mercury (5 Ari). 666 Boylston St. is the apparent address of the location of the marathon finish line and the first explosion.
A close conjunction of Pholus (mass death,violence) and the transneptunian Cupido (22 Sag) (groups of people) opposed Vesta/Moon/Lilith. This disturbing conjunction will be around for years and doesn’t become exact until 2015!
Wait! There is more astrological fruit to be picked! Asteroid Bangsgaard (1 Sag) was posited close to the IC. Asteroid Chaos (15 Gem) closely conjoined Jupiter within 40′ square to asteroid Karma (16 Vir). Karma squared the Vesta/Moon/Lilith conjunction in Gemini (which hasn’t been alluded to). Asteroid Andromache (5 Vir) was conjunct the Asc. Andromache is named for the tragic figure in Greek mythology, a staunchly loyal wife and mother who loses one of her two sons to sacrifice.
That’s interesting Lilli. It turns out asteroid Medusa (5 Psc with Deneb) is closely conjunct Neptune within 28 minutes on the Dsc. Asteroid BAM (4 Tau) is also widely conjunct the Sun within 9 degrees sextile Neptune/Medusa.
Note also that Algol, the Medusa’s head, is conjunct the MC in the bombing chart, and is conjunct the Asteroid Marathon. Algol is connected with beheadings and dismemberment, and is said to be the most baleful, unlucky star in the sky.
What about Black Holes, Alex? Looks like Tantalus and Osiris are both conjunct the Black Hole at 28 deg. Aquarius in the bombing chart.
Well, if you read the Edgar Cayce readings, those Tsarnaev boys are in for some really bad karma from causing so much pain and suffering and death. Many lifetimes of suffering on their part, to pay off the karmic debt, if you ascribe to the theory of re incarnation.

At the time of the bombing Melpomene (24 Aries) the ‘Muse of Tragedy’ was conjunct the Sun within an orb of 2 degrees.

Misam (Kappa Persei) was almost exactly conjunct the MC. Misam
is associated with lying. Its also interesting to note the affetic
score for the Part of Fortune was -1.
It was stated that in Lu Lingzi’s chart natal Reqiuem/Tsarevsky
are posited at 15 Leo (possibly the worst degree in the Zodiac!).
This is exactly opposite the midpoint of natal Lachesis and Atropos
at 15 Aqu!
