Daykeeper Journal Astrology

Affirmative astrology for challenging times

Astrological Overview, December 2010

By Boots Hart, CAP

If we were to pick a theme for December, it would probably be “over the river and through the woods” as an image of how life gets easier or more challenging based on our willingness to get out there and do, be and grapple with our endurance—not to mention the correctness of our direction and how well we’ve prioritized!

All this begins with Mercury entering Capricorn at 0:12 (UT) on December 1. That this happens with the North Node at 3 Capricorn conjunct Sappho and Pluto at 4 Capricorn suggests shifting social dynamics…probably resulting in changes of schedules (Pluto/4 Cap) which become necessary as a part of more “universal (Sappho/North Node) needs.” Because the lunar nodes move backward through the zodiac, we know these needs (whatever they may be) are moving towards us and thus will take priority. Ignore such things at your own peril!

Which is not to say this is all bad. You may have been waiting for one thing to end so that you could get on with something else…and with Venus at 0 Scorpio that waiting may now end.

Or you may just realize that you need to get on with your life in spite of “other factors.”

Does this mean you’re becoming more pliable? More realistic? Maybe. Then again, it could be someone else who is finally giving up on being stubborn. It could also be some “meeting of the minds,” which would be apt now as Mercury in Capricorn is about taking care of business.

About the only suggested warning now is for those who have been capering their la-dee-dah way through life’s park thinking all will be as they want it to be. For you, something new may arise which throws a wrench in…. Premium Subscription, only pennies per day, check it out now!.

Boots Hart is an ISAR-certified astrologer of 30 years’ experience, with some 20 years as a magazine and online columnist.

Writer by habit and philosopher by bent (some say very bent…), Boots is a metaphysical science geek spiritualist—a person as inspired by the workings of time/space as touched by the often painful adventures of mankind. Through writings public and private, her aim is to use astrology as cipher, helping us understand. Can we learn how to live a happier life? What does that take? Why are the times as they are? These are the questions. And that answers can be gleaned from cosmic cycles and the reflections of those in our lives? That would seem to be part of our journey—the one path we all take and walk together.
