Such an obvious symbol! Columbia was a name for the United States for many years. On February 1, it crashes. Where does it crash? Over Texas, GW’s home state. Near the town of Palestine. And the dead astronauts consist of six Americans, and one Israeli—the first Israeli in space.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon in Aquarius which occurred on February 1 is:

"A BAROMETER. The ability to uncover basic natural facts that allow us to plan in advance for action. Planning for the near future is a possibility because the potential (or seed) of the future is already operating at the core of the present. It is most important to seek knowledge of causal progression. ANTICIPATION."

Realistic anticipation of possible consequences of attacking Iraq appears to be missing in the U.S. Administration.

And recklessness is apparently involved in the Columbia crash as well. A panel of safety monitors for the shuttle program reported last March that there were many safety problems, and an accident was waiting to happen. Members of the panel were then fired.

We can read the circumstances of this accident as a clear warning. The U.S., under Bush and his Middle East policies, crashes. Israel falls with it. Recklessness, denial, and lack of concern for others’ lives by the U.S. Administration lead up to this crash. Anticipation?

The theme of resurrection dominates the crash chart.

The chart for the crash of Columbia in Palestine, Texas at 8:00 a.m. CST on February 1 shows Transpluto, the energy of resurrection, setting, almost exactly conjoined the descendant. It has an almost-exact trine to Venus, overhead in the tenth house of destiny.

This is the fierce, morning-rising, Venus, often called the warrior Venus. She comes clothed in the flames of Sagittarius, and she arises exactly from the Black Hole at the Galactic Center, at 27 Sagittarius.

Transpluto is an alchemist, who operates at very deep levels to actually change substance. NASA will undertake a very big redesign program with the space shuttles. Those such as Columbia will never fly again. In fact, the Defense Dept. wants new shuttles as part of their "missile defense" program—and now they will surely get them. The shuttle program will be completely resurrected.
