Daykeeper January 2010 Travel Advisory

by Susan Pomeroy

Mercury is retrograde for the first half of January. It's the perfect time to settle in and prepare for 2010; to meditate on New Year's hopes, dreams, goals and improvements. If you're already traveling now, you'll benefit enormously from camping out in one place for an extended sojourn of learning and R&R. It's not a time to "push the river." But if you must begin, or push on with, travels during this time, carry a good book (and your patience), and leave a generous cushion of time for inevitable glitches. Disruptive (but generally not disastrous) miscommunications and hassles are especially likely to arise over lodgings, luggage, roads and buildings under construction, broken seats or other structural issues, and temporary obstruction by rule-bound clerks, bureaucrats and functionaries. Where appropriate, cash tips might be unusually efficacious in resolving minor problems.

Friday, January 1. Poor, especially for starting trips; VOC moon all day. Air travel probably better than other modes.

Saturday January 2. Good.

Sunday, January 3. Poor. Irritability and restlessness are pervasive, especially on the roads.

Monday, January 4. Good.

Tuesday-Thursday, January 5-7. Poor.

Friday, January 8. Good.

Saturday, January 9. OK.

Sunday, January 10. Good after 10:10 am PST.

Monday, January 11. Good.

Tuesday, January 12. Good after 11 am PST. Take care with the morning commute—Uranus can bring sudden shocks.

Wednesday, January 13. A complex but all-in-all OK travel day. Detours may arise.

Thursday, January 14. Poor. New Moon solar eclipse 11:11 pm tonight (PST).

Friday, January 15. Good after 9 am. Mercury direct today!

Saturday, January 16. So-so. Auto travel in particular can be problematic this afternoon, with tendencies towards a grim and unyeilding determination to get where we're going, no matter who or what is in the way.

Sunday, January 17. So-so. If you're starting a trip, get underway before noon (PST). Afternoon and evening are pleasant but dreamy. Pay attention!

Monday-Tuesday, January 18-19. Good.

Wednesday-Thursday, January 20-21. OK.

Friday, January 22. Very good, provided we start our trips before the 11:47 am (PST) VOC moon, or after 8:39 pm.

Saturday, January 23. So-so. Afternoon best.

Sunday, January 24. Good.

Monday-Tuesday, January 25-26. Poor.

Wednesday, January 27. OK.

Thursday-Sunday, January 28-31. Poor.
