by Terry Lamb We can’t talk about what’s really happening in March without grouping it with April, because the planets carry out a single process during that time. It is a story of Venus and Mars, Ares and Aphrodite doing the courtship dance somewhere in our life (not necessarily romance). Often they flirt from a distance, but now they come together with a clash of cymbals, great strength, and broad acclaim. The inner planets (those inside the orbit of Jupiter) have been moving as an ensemble until recently, with Mars in the lead (latest degree). Mercury nipped ahead briefly in February as it reached the arc of its orbit furthest from the Sun, but its retrograde has taken it to the back of the pack, a buzzing Ninshubur nattering in each planet’s ear as it made contact. It did this with every major body in the solar system except Uranus, connecting all the dots to help us integrate the stories in our life into one panoramic gestalt. In March Mercury still has a role, but it fades into the background after March 8 (even though still retrograde through March 17), and the March-April-Venus-Mars process comes into full focus from March 11. This process is simply spectacular! Multiple conjunctions occur, meaning that we get multiple new beginnings all at once, a chaotic profusion of possibility. This is augmented mightily by the presence of Uranus, the life-giving Great Awakener that fosters quantum change. What we get out of it is a “Sliding Doors” opportunity (see the movie if you haven’t), where portals are opening and closing rapidly, like the sliding doors on a transit train. Following our instinctuitions, we will be led through them in ways that work to further our purpose; but if we over-think it, or block the flow with cloudy emotions, we may miss an opportunity. The cycles that begin now are potent because they affect our daily affairs, the story line advancing in our head. They change the dynamic of our everyday experience because the planetary order (by latest Zodiacal degree) will be turned on its head by the end of April: Where we now have Mars-Mercury-Sun-Venus, we will have Venus-Sun-Mars-Mercury at the end of March. Our approach to new things will be naturally softer, less aggressive. Among these conjunctions is the New Mercury cycle (Inferior Conjunction) on March 4 and the Full Venus (Superior Conjunction) on March 28. The New Mercury cycle commences at the time-midpoint of its retrograde, and we can start our new projects and processes then—those involving a four-month step in our longer-term processes. The tasks we take on involve connection, communication, learning, and expressing new perceptions. The Full Venus is the culmination of the Venus process, which has to do with (self-)love, value, finance, and relationship, on the New Venus cycle that began on June 5, 2012 (the Transit of Venus). The fact that this was a rare Transit of Venus across the face of the Sun was a huge event for consciousness, because it dug in deep to pull out our deepest splits in self—places where we had deeply sequestered experiences from our long-forgotten past (ours and our ancestors’). These split-off places are where we felt threatened, sustained injury or suffered one of the various forms of death. The Full Venus culmination comes as a thunderclap, reaching its peak as Venus and the Sun also conjoin the lightning bolt that is Uranus. Uranus fractures the scene, creates multiple options out of one, and introduces quantum change. Incredibly, these planets make a triple conjunction over 7-½ hours on March 28. Each of us will have an experience unique to our circumstances and perfectly suited in the way the universe so wisely determines, often introducing an influence that resolves several issues with one event. Chances are that we already know what it’s about, even though we are hard-pressed to predict the outcome. The more we can flow through the month without expecting an outcome right away, the more we’ll get out of it. With three other cycles starting afresh (Sun-Uranus, Venus-Uranus, and on April 7 Venus-Mars), there are more doors to open and whole new scenarios to encompass in our view, a series of steps in a Grand Purpose rather than a discrete outcome to our story’s current plot.
