Daykeeper's September 2011 General Monthly Influences

by Boots Hart

In the wake of much which has been shown to be problematic, we respond, we cope, we sort out the possible from the improbable, and in general set about deciding what to do. September is a time when necessities change, when vulnerabilities get shown up and when those who have prioritized correctly begin making new headway.

One of the big themes is month is the continuing of things already in progress. A lot can get done, but wherever you've been ignoring things, or leaving them for someone else to attend to (without due diligence on your part), life will pose some very real threat to your ability to move forward.

As the month begins, TNO Typhon having moved into Libra just a tick or two ago starts us off on a very interesting note. Typhon represents all things primal and instinctual (much of which we like to think we've risen “above” in our oh-so civilized world). Its passage through Libra is going to show up every form of bad behavior AND results of same. In particular, Typhon in Libra is going to reveal where (and how) we tend to succumb to our own desirous preferences and how that does or doesn't work to benefit us.

This isn't any two-minute egg we're talking about here, either. TNO (Trans Neptunian Object) Typhon will be transiting Libra until November 2016. So figure on many a moment, situation, incident and relationship to show up where who you're allowing yourself to be does and doesn't play well in your world.

With this in mind, this next couple of months islikely to be particularly intense. Why? Because there's one big giant honking supermassive black hole sitting just inside the Libra boundary. Known as M87 (the "M" standing for Messier), the "black hole" part of this equates to “alternative realities,” which in Libra manifest as strong "magnetic" pulls towards or from another. Or connections we make with—or through them. Or things they "set off" in us from which we learn about how to be the person who actually gets what we want from this life.

Transiting Typhon plus M87 says this is a time where much will be learned and gained…against which there is a chance that much can be blindly frittered away now. It just depends on what you're doing and how honest with yourself you actually are, particularly where that concerns interactions with others and who you choose to associate with. (And why, yes.) Those who thrive now will be folks who know how to remain aware of their Self in what they say, do and choose with regards to interactions with others. And if crud does hit the fan now (like that euphemism?) we should treat it as education, not a cause for lashing out. Our sense of perspective and the "over-versus-under" of self-regulation is going to get tested now.

Come September 9 at 6am (UT/+0) Mercury will exit Leo and enter Virgo, signaling a shift from wants and ideals into a period of more pragmatic, functional and focused thinking. How we approach matters at hand can get myopic, so don't get caught up in minutia—remember the greater functionality and aim. Since this is also when Mercury exits the shadow of its recent (August 3–26) retrograde, this also becomes the moment when how to move forward and what to move forward on becomes issue.

A word to the wise however….Given that TNO Orcus (consequences) is at 2 Virgo and currently in opposition to Chiron (necessities which are hard to enact) at 2 Pisces…plus how Pandora (chaotic problems) is at 4 Virgo is in opposition to royal fixed star Fomalhaut at 4 Pisces (success is defeated by emotion-driven corruption)…

Add in Mercury and we have a recipe for hard choices being made because there are challenges, problems or unworkable dynamics which need to be addressed (that being the Orcus/Chiron opposition). That Orcus is in Virgo makes this like as not about something which isn't "working" or "functional," while Chiron in Pisces is the emotional difficulty we have in rectifying the problem.

Pandora in Virgo is the "whole box of difficulties" (Pandora) messing up our works. Or work. Or ability to work, with Fomalhaut being that "some hopes don't pay off" message.

That this leads right into a Full Moon on September 12 (at 9:28am UT/+0) at 19 Pisces (of all signs!) tells us that this is a highlighting of "sensitive issues." In other words, whatever this situation is for you, it's chief difficulty is how you feel about it. Given that the specific degree of this Full Moon (19 Pisces) has a reputation for stomach ailments and legal issues (separate, combined or one causing the other), the "stomach ache" is like-as-not emotional and the "legal" part of this is what we could otherwise call “propriety.”

That this Full Moon (a celestial image of "facing facts") takes place in square to the Nodes and also in square to Sphinx-opposition-Phaethon (patience challenged by lack of maturity) PLUS Rigel-opposition-Ixion (“knowing” versus being a self-entitled “know-it-all”) this seems like a recipe for confrontations versus clarifications…or confrontations which end up clarifying some situation. At stake is the "what WE want" versus what work all the way around—and some minority's being in conflict with some complacent (or greatly silent) majority which may or may not involve some "pot stirring" (troublemaking for the sake of watching things bubble). Facts rule best now, but may well get swept aside.

After that "hit" of reality (Full Moons always juxtapose reality against emotionality), September 13 evolves into discordant situations as Venus rolls over 29 Virgo on September 14, and a more tempered situation come Venus' September 15 entrance in Libra (at 2:41am, UT/+0).

On one hand this is good: Venus in Libra is often a sign of general willingness to get along. This combination favors negotiation and discussions of real values. On the other hand, given that Typhon (remember Typhon?) remains at 1 Libra and is now in a seriously pissy face-off against Uranus retrograding at 3 Aries? There's bound to be more than a little "if change is needed, you should do the changing!" and that ever-popular "you don't like it, just ignore it!" sort of thing.

Yet neither will work. And how do we know that? That we know because as Venus enters Libra, Pluto is on station to go direct at 4 Capricorn come 6:23pm on September 16. And that means September 14–18 are going to be very polarizing days. Desires are likely to rule though they are better used towards learning better. Unfortunately most of us are just stuck on what we "want" things to be.

Pluto has been "working over" 4 Capricorn for a year and a half now (since April 2010). And we've seen all sorts of 4 Capricorn doings, this being a degree which embodies a "Venusian" sort of "value system" test. The passionate political doings and personal evolutions we've all seen during this period are very Plutonian, in that they all test our ability to choose what we do and believe based on facts, not what we fancy. There's a lot of illusion and delusion going on; taking our cues from proven reality is—where possible—best. Those who bet (or who have bet) on something others consider(ed) "imaginary" which prove/have just proved true point to "brands" of valuable thinking. But not everybody's going to listen.

Let's also remember that 4 Capricorn opposes (“faces off against” or polarizes) the degree of the July 1, 2011 solar eclipse (9 Cancer). That eclipse—which has began evidencing itself on one plane as international issues with debt and finance—also has most of us going through some sort of inner struggle with "emotional basics" (hello, Typhon…?). Who the heck are we…and who the heck do we really want to be? Do our ends justify our means?

This Pluto station is also in square to Saturn's (4 Libra) station back in January 2010, AND to Uranus' (4 Aries) station of July 2011. Amidst a changing world, we are being asked to renovate and innovate not just our perspective on life, but our approach to life, our attitudes about life and our willingness to take on being who we are at a whole new level.

Warning: change or be changed. Dame Karma is impatiently tapping her toe.

Perhaps as Mars moves into Leo at 1:52 am on September 19 (UT/+0) the general inspirational and willingness-to-try vibe which is so typical of Mars-in-Leo will help us out? Maybe. But let's be real: if Mars enters Leo on the 19th, that means it was heading into 29 critical (often hyper-critical, when you're talking Mars) degrees of Cancer as Pluto moves through its station. Ouch!

Especially now as the days roll forward, and come September 22 as the Sun is poised to hit its own 29 Virgo opposition to fixed star Scheat, we will need to deal with facts. People (including us) sometimes simply act like sheep. Or lemmings, if you prefer. Thus ignorance will rule the day until wiser heads prevail. And since wisdom is knowledge tempered by emotional recognition and understanding, dealing with the commonalties of humanity against the responsibility to be individualized even when it's hard or unpopular…that makes all the difference.

Once the Sun enters Libra at 9:06 am on September 23 (UT/+0), we enter a month is all about who we are, how well we interact with others and how others respond to us. Life is not "about" “them” except that they mirror "us." Thus "they" become our teachers and a means by which we measure how well we have mastered our potentials. Particularly as we move on a day or two to September 25 and Mercury catches up, entering Libra at 9:10pm (UT/+0) just asthe Sun sets off a now "perfected" opposition between Typhon (remember Typhon?) and Uranus retrograde—either the lights go on or fireworks go off. Either way, we discover more about who we are and how well that works for us. Or doesn't, yes.

And lest we think this ends September's cavalcade, the New Moon of September 27 (at 11:10am UT/+0) will be positioned at 4 Libra. Yes, I said 4 Libra.

Four Libra is where Saturn went retrograde back on January 13, 2010. What were you doing?

Four Libra is the opposition point to Uranus' station of July 10, 2011. What kind of changes are going on in your life? How well are you doing with them? Which way is the tide flowing: towards validation and support…or towards challenge and self-penalizing rebellion?

Four Libra is square to Pluto's station of September 16. Are you questioning your values? Changing your forward-looking plans? How's that working out? With asteroid Child having moved into 4 Capricorn and asteroid Eurydike into 4 Cancer as this New Moon takes place, the "price we pay" for confusing immaturity with innocence is huge. Fortunately, a New Moon is always a moment when we can make start anew in our effort to create a better life and world.

So good luck to you in doing just that!
