Maya's May Travel Advisory

by Maya del Mar

In general, May is not a good month for travel. Many fixed sign squares make the energy accident-prone. Nobody budges from their set course, and at times there are crashes. We also have a very active Neptune. Although Neptune is fine for air or sea travel, it can cloud conditions for land travel, like fog does. A difficult Mercury-retrograde adds to the potential problems. If you can, wait until June to travel.

"Travel" can mean just walking out into your backyard. Moving around uses the same energies, no matter how you do it. For instance, I wasn’t watching my step on April 10, and fell down a couple of stairs and hurt my head (Aries). My notes for that day say "not good, careless." Exactly.

Well, on with it:

May 1 and May 31. These are both New Moon days, when we tend to feel vulnerable and inner-oriented. They also both feature the Neptune-Jupiter opposition, which can promote over-expectations and a desire to push the envelope. This is not a stable combination, especially for land travel. Air and sea travel should be OK, although the sensitivity and vulnerability detracts from its satisfaction.

May 2. Moon is VOC all day. Don’t embark on a trip.

May 3 and 4. These are the days to start moving. All is well.

May 5 and 6. After Moon enters Cancer at 11:42 a.m. EDT on the fifth, travel indications are excellent.

May 7. Not good. Moon is VOC all day, plus Mercury has its unusual transit of Sun.

May 8. Bad. The Mars-Jupiter opposition shows impulsiveness and inattention, two qualities that can be dangerous.

May 9. OK.

May 10. Not good. Mars-Juno shows the possibility of victims, and Uranus of shocks.

May 11. Fine.

May 12-15. Poor. Mars pushes a stationary Neptune to spread confusion and chance-taking, a poor combination. Again, worst for land travel.

May 16-18. Good.

May 19-20. Could be fine, but conditions are a bit unstable. Mercury is stationary, turning direct. It squares Jupiter, which expands whatever Mercury, the planet of travel, is involved in now. Rashness, and inattention to details, are also likely.

May 21. Excellent.

May 22-24. Chancy. Uranus, energy of shocks, surprises, and disruption prevails now.

May 25-26. Excellent.

May 27. Conditions are foggy, unclear and confused. Moon is VOC from 2:41 p.m.-4:32 p.m. EDT.

May 28. Good and bad. Yesterday’s conditions prevail, but on the other hand Moon conjoins Mercury, which is excellent.

May 29. Fine this morning, although security processes will be extra firm. Plan for time. At 11:53 a.m. Moon goes VOC for the rest of the day. Don’t start then.

May 30-31. The planets are fine for travel these days, but a Solar Eclipse is occurring, and our electromagnetic shields are shaken up. We are vulnerable.
