Note: These descriptions apply particularly to your sun sign, which is your command center and your basic pathway. However, they also apply to planets in the sign described. This was startling to me, for example, when I wrote about Capricorn. My creative planets, Venus and Mars, are in Capricorn, and the description fits exactly my August intentions.

ARIES. This is a very strong healing period for you. If you apply yourself and work hard, you can make breakthroughs in your career. Do your groundwork now. Analyze your modus operandi and repair things about your approach that aren’t working properly. You’ll make yourself ready to meet new, helpful people next month. In the midst of the disciplined effort of this month, you begin a new creative cycle.

TAURUS. You start the month with a lot of pressures coming at you from different directions, as you wind down from your July high. By mid-month you have a new game plan, especially in regard to your home base. You’re very busy taking care of things, at the same time being productive and feeling good about what you’re doing. Communication works well for you. It may revolve around bettering things for your children.

GEMINI. You’re super busy on two fronts—home and work. You start a new cycle in your everyday life, and this one’s a dilly. Prepare to be in a whirlwind for the next year. Fleet-footed Mercury is your planet, and it’s retrograde this month. This gives you the opportunity to review, re-organize, and repair, especially in regard to communication. Glitches will show you how you can polish up your communicative skills.

CANCER. You’re preparing for some big, important thing that will make some changes in your life, Cancer. You may be feeling some apprehension or dread, because in fact you do need to do things right. This process is especially important for you because it involves something (or some person) which is dear to your heart. Things will go well, and you will develop a new social niche for yourself.

LEO. This is your new start for the year, Leo. You are making it with a Mercury retrograde, and many planets in Virgo, showing that you are doing it with caution and care, and perhaps changing the past in the process. Finances are a major concern now, and sudden events in that arena will keep you on your toes. You may have extra responsibilities in your everyday life. Perhaps travel is involved.

VIRGO. Your relationships are like a shifting kaleidoscope this month, culminating at Full Moon at the end of the month. This is partly a function of a retrograde Mercury in Virgo, which is inducing you to rethink how you communicate yourself. It is partly a result of unpredictability in others. And it is partly a result of your new burst of energy, which aids you in self-assertion.

LIBRA. This month is a period of preparation, Libra. Use the Mercury retrograde to explore deeper motivations which may be holding you back. Next month the whole world pops into Libra, and you will need to be ready to perform. Remember the body-mind connection. This is also a good time to get your body in shape, so you’ll have the stamina for your stimulating month ahead.

SCORPIO. You’re a good worker, Scorpio, and this month you receive special recognition for your work. You may find yourself involved in a leading role with groups which are dedicated to service or self-improvement. Your creative juices are flowing, and you come up with some practical new ideas. Money is again a focus, and you may make a big expenditure for something you’ve always wanted.

SAGITTARIUS. No one knows how to take advantage of lucky breaks better than you, Sag. They really start increasing this month, in preparation for a big month ahead. Mercury is retrograde, so remember to re-evaluate and rethink your approach. Work is especially energized. There may be a disruption in a partnership, so that you are left more on your own. You are gathering power.

CAPRICORN. Watch your health. This would be a perfect time to engage a personal trainer who can help you develop good health routines. You will broaden your horizons this month, perhaps through traveling, becoming involved in sports, or getting a new electronic set-up. You are in the midst of a long, slow process of identity change, and this month others are particularly influential.

AQUARIUS. The Full Moon in Aquarius which begins this month is a particularly expressive one for you. It throws you into a whole new dimension of imagination and vision. By mid-month you solidify a new organization of your working environment. Others help you. In fact, you depend a great deal on others this month. Your financial situation is active, with both ups and downs.

PISCES. You are able to go with the flow, but the flow is so fast for you this month that it might be a little disconcerting. Excessive nervous energy may be a problem, and you may have to learn to take time to shut the world out, and let it all go. You can develop a new awareness of your emotional needs, which will culminate at Full Moon at the end of the month. Creative expression is super important.
