General Influences, March 2003

In March we make a big vibrational shift: from outgoing, reform-minded Aquarius to receptive go-with-the-flow Pisces. Pisces is more low-key than Aquarius, who is always revved up. Pisces is also more intuitive and less willful. It’s more flexible, and less fixed and stubborn. The challenges of resolving problems and conflicts will have more options, and bigger possibilities. Compassion is also a Piscean quality, and it can now come into play. Imagination is stimulated, and new ways of looking at old problems can now appear.

Pisces can be a clear channel for spirit, and we can now open to spirit more easily, and allow our higher selves to guide us.

Pisces is a sign of peace, and a sign of universality. It unifies. In Pisces we are all brothers and sisters under the skin; we all belong to one family—the human family. This spirit of unity will be especially strengthened this month because seven of the ten major planets are in universal signs. This means we see the world globally and broadly.

Moon of course is in all signs. Only two planets are not in universal signs. Saturn is in the personal sign of Gemini, conjunct the U.S. Mars for the month, putting the screws on the U.S. military. Jupiter is in Leo, conjunct GW’s Mercury for the month, giving him great self-confidence which can shade into delusions of grandeur.

Gentle Pisces comes in like a lion, for that planet of surprises and disruption, Uranus, enters Pisces on March 10 for the first time in 84 years. This is the day of First Quarter Moon, and it is a powerful day in its own right. Sun and Moon make stressful aspects with explosive, volcanic Pluto.

The volatile energies of March 10 will set the tone for the remainder of Uranus’ journey in Pisces, which includes much of 2003 and 2010, and all of the years 2004-2009.

Pisces is also a dreamer, and many new dreams will emerge from the heights and from the depths during these years. Music, poetry, and other creative arts are already showing hints of the creativity to come. On February 13, there were dozens of anti-war poetry read-ins throughout the United States. (This was the day that Laura Bush had scheduled for a poetry reading in the White House, but she canceled it when she heard that anti-war sentiment would be expressed.)

Mercury, Sun, and Pallas Athena also move through subtle Pisces during March. Their influence is strong. They continue stimulating the Pluto-Saturn opposition, that aspect of hard work which has dominated the last one and one-half years. Mercury and Sun are personal planets, and the work of that world-changing opposition will feel very personal to each of us.

The aim during Pisces time is to lift us to more spiritual dimensions, and to connect with those guiding powers which inspire and uplift us. The development of faith is especially important now.

The entire month of March has a strong plutonic cast. This means that old situations and points of view are dying, in order for new ones to be born, hopefully more closely connected to spirit.

Pisces is a powerful sign. It is during Pisces time that our dreams for the year are planted. And it is those dreams which are the matrix for our future actions. The images which stimulate us now are very potent. It behooves us to use discrimination in choosing those images which we truly want to see manifested.

March is a month to regenerate our imaging—to let go of old images which have outlived their usefulness, and to open to those inspiring images which can help us to evolve on the path, and to participate in creating a better world.

All mutable signs will be especially stimulated this month. Those are Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius. All four of these signs do, in fact, have an extra aptitude for tuning in to the more subtle vibrations around them.

The degrees of all planets between 18-24 are strongly impacted, particularly 20 degrees.

Maya's March Daily Success Guide

Note: A VOC Moon period is when the Moon is making no further major planetary aspects before it changes signs. Moon and its aspects are strongly associated with our everyday behavior, and without those aspects to direct our course, we are left much more free to pursue our own ends in our own way. It is like you’re driving down the freeway and find the road signs removed for awhile. On the one hand, plans may go awry, you may miss your exit; on the other hand, inner work is greatly favored as those external "instructions" are reduced.

Times used are EST, because the overall influences for the United States are centered in Washington DC.

SATURDAY MARCH 1

Yesterday’s independent Aquarian vibe continues today. Aspects are many and harmonious, and this is a day to do exactly what pleases you. Let go of obligations and "shoulds." Open to the universe, and know that it is caring for you. Spontaneous gatherings with friends are especially favored. We will feel like talking, and will have much to discuss.

Moon enters Pisces at 10:26 p.m. EST, and countdown to New Moon begins. The mood becomes meditative.

SUNDAY MARCH 2

New Moon at 13 Pisces occurs at 9:35 p.m. EST. For the last five months, all new moons have been occurring around this degree. This means that all planets placed close to 13 degrees have been receiving some type of new start each month, and the effect is cumulative change. For the U.S., those planets are Sun at 13 Cancer and Saturn at 14 Libra. Sun is the nation’s identity, and Saturn is its authority, in particular represented by the Administration.

This New Moon in Pisces trines the U.S. Sun, and allows compassion and spiritual impulses to flood into the nations’ identity. Cancer Sun can be very receptive to Pisces’ spiritual affinities.

Pisces is also the most universal sign. We feel one with the universe—"your pain is my pain." Pisces lets things diffuse into the grand cycles of life, and allows for unity on many levels. We can focus on our likenesses rather than our differences.

Pisces is a water sign, and it can get carried away with its images, and with mysterious attractions. Fanaticism is a pitfall, and religious fanaticism in particular can be seductive during Pisces time.

Sun and Moon’s main influence now is Pallas Athena, sitting just beyond them in Pisces. Pallas Athena is a strategist and a general. She knows exactly what to do with her material to bring out its maximum potential. Now in Pisces, she moves on subtle, psychic levels to direct higher guidance through compassion and artistry. Pallas Athena is the Planet of the Month, making many aspects as she moves regally through Pisces

Politically, she encourages non-violence. Gandhi had Pallas in Pisces. So did Princess Diana. And Ralph Nader. And—so does George Bush the father. Pisces thinks big, and for him it went into promoting the new world order. Pisces is often connected to drugs, and Big George is closely connected to the drug-dealing world.

Pallas is a wise defender. She rules the immune system. In Pisces, she can lend a hand in strengthening both immune systems and psychological boundaries.

There is a feeling of anticipation now. Pallas’ talents are not quite manifesting yet, but we can feel them emerging. Bringing this New Moon to expression is a five-day process. We begin tonight, as Moon transits Pallas. And on Thursday, Sun conjoins Pallas to complete the Pallas-energizing process.

Any energy can be used for good or ill. Pisces rules chemistry and life cycles, and Pallas Athena in Pisces knows all about chemical and biological warfare. This could be a major topic now.

Uranus entering Pisces on March 10 will give Pallas another push into Pisces’ limelight.

Neptune and Jupiter are the two rulers of Pisces, and thus have much to say about this New Moon. They are opposed now, indicating that we will see opposing ways in using Piscean energy. Neptune in Aquarius gives us the opportunity to put Piscean compassion in the service of altruistic causes. And in the other corner—Jupiter in Leo says that we can use this great creativity in a personal way to dramatize ourselves. These impulses can work together well, e.g. in creating socially relevant art. But with Leo there is always the potential of aggrandizement purely for our own ego inflation.

This hubris is a great danger now for the world, for Jupiter falls on GW’s first house Mercury, which shows his perception of self, and how he communicates his essence. Neptune and Jupiter each are subject to over-inflation. Together they can result in grand, larger than life, inflation.

Furthermore, there is now a close grand fire trine which has a militaristic nature—Ceres in Aries, taking care of the military; warrior Mars in Sagittarius, the gambler sign; and Transpluto in Leo, renovating seats of power.

The pivot point for the expression of this trine is Mercury in Aquarius, which conjoins unpredictable Uranus, and is now transiting over the U.S. Pallas in Aquarius. The U.S. Pallas is keen on science and technology, and has lately been heavily involved in weapons development. Testing new weapons is one of the goals of the Administration in Iraq.

Now that Pallas is trining the U.S. Sun in Cancer, does that mean expanding and universalizing the use of war weapons? Death-dealing Pluto squaring the Pisces planets this month certainly shows that possibility.

This New Moon at 13 Pisces is at the apex of a Finger of God—a double quincunx, which shows a strong and sudden need for adjustments. The outlet, or discharge point, is in the region of 9-13 Virgo. This includes GW’s Mars, which is conjoined Black Hole Apsu, the Babylonian Lord of the Abyss. This could indicate that with more peaceful energies coming in, GW is making a switch from war-mongering to peace-making. This would certainly require some big adjustments on his part.

The planets now make many contacts to galactic bodies. This means that events seeded with this new moon have galactic, or very wide, significance. Dominant are black holes, which are transformative energy vortexes, often draining, along with pulsars, centers of new information.

The universal energies invited in by this Moon give us an unparalleled opportunity to listen to the deep, complex symphony of the universe. It’s important now to take time alone, and in meditation, to tune into spirit’s song.

The Sabian Symbol for 13 Pisces is

"AN ANCIENT SWORD, USED IN MANY BATTLES, IS DISPLAYED IN A MUSEUM. Through the effective use of will, a consecrated person can become a symbol of courage for all those who follow. Will power is the ultimate spiritual weapon, and its undeviating use is the certification of individual worth. This symbol emphasizes the imperative need to make use of the will in meeting the basic challenges of the inner life as well as outer adversaries. The individual must use that WILL POWER, yet it is not really her own once she operates at a spiritual level. It is God’s will operating through her mind which focuses its thrusts. It is, occultly speaking, the power of the Brotherhood—the energy of the Whole operating through the one-pointed individual who has made the Whole aware of the need for its use in a particular situation."

The energies now are perfect for becoming an instrument of divine will.

This New Moon rises, along with Mercury and Uranus, through the Middle East. It is on the midheaven, where the world sees its action, through Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and the Far East in general. Volatile line crossings move through San Francisco, New York, London, Europe in general, Moscow, Baghdad, and the Koreas.

MONDAY MARCH 3

All of this month, the difficult Saturn-Pluto opposition is stimulated. Today, our first day of Pisces New Moon, Moon itself squares both Pluto and Saturn, perhaps inducing power struggles, and surely inducing hard and serious work. In Pisces, the thrust of that work is to connect with our compassionate natures. When we don’t use Piscean energy at a high level, we are subject to sabotage, undermining, and disillusionment. Pisces is the sign of spirit, and it demands that we follow spiritual laws.

TUESDAY MARCH 4

Mardi Gras today will be a blast. Moon enters fiery Aries at 8:30 a.m. EST, and we march into the day with trumpets blaring. Moon connects closely with Mars and Venus, the creators, now in outgoing signs, ready to party. Mercury conjuncts Uranus, stimulating all kinds of new, and perhaps revolutionary, ideas. Venus moves into Pisces tonight to give us loving vibes.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 5

Yesterday’s party may run through the night, and even today we may find it hard to relax. With Moon in enthusiastic Aries, action is the word. This is a fine day to initiate projects. We may be in the mood again tonight for partying.

This is Ash Wednesday, as well as the beginning of the Islamic New Year. Islam’s year will be characterized by the Pisces New Moon, and tomorrow’s Sun-Pallas conjunction. Pisces is a spiritual and visionary energy. It can also stimulate fanaticism and delusion, as well as religious devotion.

THURSDAY MARCH 6

Moon continues in energetic Aries, and we feel like stepping boldly out into the world. We meet challenges handily. Sun conjoins Pallas Athena today to invigorate her with Sun’s creativity. With that conjunction, we begin a new one-year cycle in our expression of Pallas. In Pisces, she can help us on our spiritual and artistic pathways. She can also apply her know-how to exploring the chemical and biological worlds. We can choose to support the use of those explorations for the good of humankind.

FRIDAY MARCH 7

Moon moves into sensual, earthy Taurus, and we enjoy the fruits of the earth, including beauty, the arts, and good food. Taurus grounds us. That includes stimulating our desires to get and to keep. With Taurus moon, we resist change and upset to our routines. However, Taurus is moving into a fixed grand cross, and we will feel pressure to change during the next two days. At the same time we’re carrying very loving feelings. Relationships, possessions, and money can all reflect this conflict. Partly we want to be free and altruistic, and partly we want to possess and control. An artistic medium can provide an outlet for all of these urges. One example is creating food to share with a group. Music will appeal tonight.

Many will be preparing for International Women’s Day tomorrow. With the planetary support for women this month, this day is apt to be extra big.

SATURDAY MARCH 8

Moon continues in Taurus, and we may have an urge to enjoy the gifts of the Goddess by being in nature today. Nature is the Goddess’ domain, and this would be a great way to celebrate women.

Yesterday’s romantic, dreamy energies continue, along with pressure, perhaps of commitment. We can have inflated, unrealistic expectations in regard to both relationships and money.

Juno in Scorpio stations and turns retrograde today. We always notice stationing planets, and we can check out her current meaning during these few days—for us and for the world. Juno was once the Great Goddess. She joined forces with Jupiter in order to preserve her power in the midst of the patriarchal onslaught. She really works at relationships, but she often gets the short end of this bargain. (We all have Juno.) In Scorpio she often compensates by being manipulative.

Juno shows relationship needs, as well as abuse and disenfranchisement. Terror is also her domain—terror perhaps with being so small (she is the smallest of the big four asteroids) and with feeling overwhelmed.

Her degree now aspects last month’s Pluto-Mars conjunction, enough to arouse terror in anyone. Pluto continues at this degree through April, Juno through March, and Pallas Athena is there during mid-March, peaking at Full Moon. The asteroids represent everyday human needs, and they are asserti8ng themselves now. Juno in the fight-back sign of Scorpio can lead the struggle.

Juno is opposed by Moon in Taurus, which indicates conflict between getting one’s emotional needs met, and control of relationships. It also shows conflict between the needs of daily life and raw power. And it shows conflicts between hanging on to the familiar, and transforming relationships. Relationships now are intense and intertwined with material resources. With Scorpio, revenge can have a high priority. Power and control struggles are part of the picture.

The main goal of Juno is to create fair, egalitarian relationships. Stick with that aim. During the next four months we can re-evaluate the give and take of all relationships, and take corrective actions where necessary.

SUNDAY MARCH 9

Moon enters Gemini at 9:38 a.m. We are apt to awaken bright and early, and launch into a very pleasant day. This is a social day. We will enjoy others, feel generous towards them, and find it easy to communicate. Misunderstandings could arise from over-expectations or unrealistic appraisals. Don’t make assumptions about others; check with them. Also watch for manipulation. Use today’s good communication energy to clear out communication channels in interpersonal relationships. That clearing is important to do now, for today we start a two-week period of realigning the difficult Pluto-Saturn opposition, that aspect of structural reform, with which we have been working for months.

MONDAY MARCH 10

Moon continues in lively Gemini to move us right along through a super-dynamic and explosive day and night, marked by First Quarter Moon at 21 Gemini. It occurs at 11:15 p.m. PST today, and at 2:15 a.m. EST tomorrow.

Gemini now provides a path for the communication of our dreams and images. The hard-working Saturn-Pluto provides the means to manifest them. Moon now conjoins Saturn, which gives it persistence and drive, and Moon opposes powerhouse Pluto, agent of deep change. That combination is tough and tenacious, and can also be cruel and violent. Sun squares both Pluto and Saturn, as well as Moon. In other words, the powerful Pluto-Saturn combo is harnessed now to both Sun and Moon, who represent the dynamic core of life on earth.

This Quarter Moon represents the climax of the Pluto-Saturn opposition. For each of us in our own lives it has meant struggling with our own projects. However, for all of us it has also meant being swept along by world events, led by the imperial drive (Saturn) to power (Pluto) of the U.S. This opposition has occurred across the horizon of the U.S. chart, the place of relationships and of earthly endeavors.

We began working closely with Pluto-Saturn in the summer of 2001. The news during that time was chock-full of laws and regulations being passed daily by the Administration and the Congress which helped transfer the wealth and resources of the United States out of the pockets of the people and out of the U.S. Treasury, which belongs to the people, and into the pockets of the very wealthy. Corporate fraud was beginning to emerge into the light of day. The U.S. was sabotaging many international conferences and agreements, isolating itself, and beginning to build its missile shield in Alaska (close to Korea, as the Koreans noted). Israel drastically stepped up its campaign to demoralize and eliminate Palestinians, and began then to build a huge 180-mile wall around the occupied territories.

Bush’s popularity ratings were falling fast, the Florida election was about to be exposed for the fraud it was, as election investigations surfaced. And then on 9-11-01, Bush was given a new lease on his ambitions.

Since then we have all worked hard, as Saturn opposed Pluto, and set in motion harsh conditions for the entire world.

There are several other major aspects today, which means much significant activity.
Instrumental in catalyzing today’s action is the conjunction of this Quarter Moon (and Saturn) with the U.S. Mars AND with GW Bush’s North Node and his conjoining Uranus. Mars means U.S. aggression. GW’s North Node plus Uranus shows impulsive disruption coming from unconscious sources. It is also a destiny point.

The Sabian Symbol for 21 Gemini is

"A TUMULTUOUS LABOR DEMONSTRATION. The revolutionary impact of mental concepts upon the emotions and desires of people. EMOTIONAL OUTBURST."

TUESDAY MARCH 11

Moon conjoins Saturn at 6:24 a.m. EST, and then goes VOC, aimless in Gemini. Saturn-Moon is a serious, and often depressing, combination. We will be doing some serious thinking and communicating today. Moon enters homey Cancer at 9:12 p.m. It trines Uranus almost immediately. This trine to Moon is Uranus’ very first aspect after it enters Pisces, and it bodes well for the development of peoples’ freedom during Uranus’ seven-year journey in Pisces.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 12

Divine love. Indeed, it is possible today. Venus, who loves with conditions, and Neptune, the unconditional lover, join to begin a new one-year love cycle in Aquarius, a sign of altruistic love. They join at the degree of the Aquarius New Moon of February 1, and carry echoes of that day. The world’s people were united then in grieving for the fallen astronauts. Dream your rosiest dreams. Write them down, and focus on manifesting them during the next year. This is a feel-good day. Family and friends are especially important.

THURSDAY MARCH 13

Today we face our responsibilities and limitations. What can we actually do to make yesterday’s dreams possible? Mars squares Bush’s Neptune, and he will definitely be taking action to manifest his vision. We have a grand water trine in the sky, and emotions flow freely. So does literal water.

FRIDAY MARCH 14

All the world’s a stage, and we are happy players on it. This is an exuberant, creative day, and we enjoy prancing around and dramatizing ourselves.

SATURDAY MARCH 15

Moon continues in expressive, bountiful, pleasure-making Leo. Do what pleases you today. Tonight you’ll want to experience something with power and depth. Invite in constructive power, rather than creating a power struggle with your partner, which is often our default position.

SUNDAY MARCH 16

Moon is in Virgo, and today we want to tend to business. Energy is fine for working on special projects, and completing unfinished ones. Healing is favored today.

MONDAY MARCH 17

This is a money day, and money and resources will be under attack. We run into limitations, perhaps related to military expenditures. This is St. Patrick’s Day; wear the green to remind you to be part of a harmonious earth-money flow. Notice the bright Full Moon tonight throwing light on our problems. Today we are motivated to work hard on solving them.

TUESDAY MARCH 18

Full Moon at 28 Virgo occurs at 5:35 a.m. EST. Pisces New Moon sets in motion our inspiration and vision for the year. Virgo brings in the know-how to make them real. Together, Pisces and Virgo combine logic and intuition, and can accomplish much. All areas of health are relevant for this combination, as well as biology and chemistry. Pisces senses the larger patterns of nature, and sensitive Virgo fills in the details.

A history of degrees of this Full Moon revives September 2001 and June 2002. Both times were very active, and show large beginnings of both war and peace movements. Both moods can be activated today.

This Full Moon conjuncts the fixed star Benetnash, whose name means "hired mourners."

Sun and Moon both have wide squares to the Pluto-Saturn opposition, and again that powerful aspect is an instrumental motivator. These four mutable signs—Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini—give us a mutable grand cross, which can be conflicted, flexible, and easily moved. The four mutable signs also have a high potential to look for spiritual connections and solutions. This is particularly the case during this Pisces Moon cycle.

In the chart set for Washington, Pluto is overhead, demanding that the dead wood go and that we make room for regeneration. Pluto exactly opposes the degree of the June 10, 2002 Solar Eclipse, which adds to its potential for change. At that time a big subject was the food chain, and biotechnology. The U.S. said that biotechnology would save the world, and that they would not label genetically engineered food. In the meantime, a study by scientists found that GE food did not produce more, did not use less chemicals, and did not alleviate poverty.

Pluto is exactly squared by Pallas, a challenging aspect. Exact aspects dominate a sky picture. We can watch today’s action, and see what Pallas and Pluto precipitate. Or maybe participate in it, especially if we have planets in mutable signs close to 20 degrees. The U.S. Mars in Gemini and the U.S. Neptune in Virgo are two such planets. They are the pair that take us into wars on the basis of confused crusades. They are associated with advertising, propaganda, drugs and oil.

Pallas Athena in Pisces dominates both Sun and Mercury in Pisces. This is very hopeful, because her wisdom is the wisdom of compassion. She realizes that we are all children of God/Goddess, and knows how to work for peace.

We made a turn away from war at the February Full Moon. Now we can solidify the movement for peace, understanding, and acceptance of differences…a requirement for a better world in which to grow and thrive.

GW’s Mars sets now in Washington, and it might—again—be through reaction to his war-mongering that we unite in a mobilization for peace.

On the other hand, the Sabian Symbol for 28 Virgo is

"A BALDHEADED MAN WHO HAS SEIZED POWER. The sheer power of personality in times that call for decision. Whether at the religious or at the socio-cultural level there comes a time when obsolescent patterns of order and cultural refinement have to be radically and relentless challenged. Catabolic personages emerge to seize power and dictate decisions that alter the structures of society; or within an individual life an intense urge for cathartic changes mobilizes the will and traumatic decisions are made. At such times, the issue has to be met and, ruthless as the power may appear, it must be accepted. The un-postponable necessity for decision and transformation. Everything bows to THE POWER OF THE WILL—divine, executively human, or Satanic."

I believe that GW’s decisiveness in carrying out the plan of the New World Order is catabolic. It takes his blatant disregard of people’s welfare to rouse the will of the people to insist on and to reclaim democracy, which cannot thrive under corporate rule.

Notice that the Sabian Symbol for the New Moon concerned WILL POWER, and using it as an instrument of spiritual power. These symbols together provide much food for thought.

Moon enters Libra at 9:43 a.m. EST, to usher in two days in which energy flows easily and strongly. Justice is important to Libra.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 19

Today we can get straight on priorities, with love being number one. Affirm your love to those people who are important to you. We feel friendly and sociable now, and communication is easy. The business arena might, however, hold pitfalls.

THURSDAY MARCH 20

Vernal Equinox occurs at 8:00 p.m. EST. Sun enters Aries, the sign of the Ram, and daylight now begins to overcome the dark of winter. This is the Year of the Ram, and I would expect this month to be especially significant in terms of the year’s activities. Lambs are born now, the traditional Persian New Year begins now, and we enter a time of new beginnings.

This is the seasonal chart for spring (autumn in the southern hemisphere). For some, it is the beginning of the zodiacal year.

Moon is in Scorpio, a tough and intense sign. It lends a fierceness to the season. Aries Sun thrives on challenges, and Scorpio Moon is at home with crisis and conflict. This is a courageous combination.

Moon now trines Uranus, freshly into Pisces, to open a channel for the flow of intense and willful emotions. Money and resources continue to be a theme.

Sun in the warrior sign of Aries widely aspects Mars and Jupiter, who together represent the warrior. Mars is the ruling planet of Aries, and is the co-ruler of Scorpio. It is important now. It is conjoined with Chiron in Capricorn, who has been revealing secrets and upsetting the establishment. Mars also challenges Vesta, the protector of security.
All of this bespeaks passion and conflict during this season.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 7 Scorpio is

"THE WILL TO EXPLORE THE HIDDEN DEPTHS OF ALL EXPERIENCES AND TO SEARCH FOR PRIMORDIAL CAUSES. Depth psychology—a coming to terms with the collective Unconscious and its contents. A quest for "under-standing," i.e., for what lies under the surface of daily living. This quest may lead to great dangers. It challenges powers hidden in the depths of the unconscious. It should lead to DEPTH REALIZATION of the very roots of consciousness."

The energies now give us the wherewithal to do that dangerous exploration.

FRIDAY MARCH 21

Moon continues in Scorpio, and today joins Juno in Scorpio. Juno has rule over the seasons, and with today’s mixed aspects, weather may be wet and turbulent. Juno with Moon refers to difficult conditions for people in general, and women in particular. At the same time, it heightens energy for fighting for rights of the underdog. Juno wants fairness.

Terrorism is also connected with Juno.

Mercury joins Sun today in the first degree of pioneering Aries to set us on a completely new perceptual path. We begin now a new cycle of thinking and communicating, which will last until the Fourth of July.

This cycle will be about reformist Uranus freshly into the sign of Pisces. Uranus in Pisces is super intuitive, while Mercury in Aries is very logical. We have three months in which to do some very good work on joining our left and right brains.

Values are a big issue, and there may be conflict between spiritual and material values. At the same time, there is much energy available for working for a noble cause.

SATURDAY MARCH 22

Brave Moon enters Sagittarius at 10:33 a.m., ready to move into the jaws of Pluto, who is in its powerful stationary position, ready to turn retrograde tonight. Power is in the air. Aspects are harmonious, and we can start our new adventures with enthusiasm.

SUNDAY MARCH 23

Pluto turns retrograde at 0:12 a.m. EST. The wheel at this time repeats exactly the wheel of the U.S. chart, making this moment extra significant for the nation. Vesta is overhead now, and Sun underfoot, both showing that security is the major issue.

Pluto and Saturn sit across the horizon, bringing that challenge close to home. They are squared by Pallas Athena, an aspect which has been the main stress in the sky since March 14. Pallas in Pisces is the strategist of universality, and she is not happy with the current narrow-minded Pluto-Saturn application. What can she do about it? Now is the time.

Moon opposes the U.S. aggressive Uranus-Aldeberan conjunction, and conjoins the fixed star Antares, a warrior energy.

This is a period of power moves, lining up the pieces before retreat.
Tonight around 8 p.m. EST, Moon conjoins Pluto, and we are apt to feel the thud of deep power to our core.

At this time, grandiose Jupiter is overhead in Washington, and volcanic Pluto and Moon are in the second house of resources.

At the last Full Moon, Pluto was exactly overhead in Washington. At Spring Equinox, Pluto was overhead in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Plutonic energy now is apt to be demonstrated in those places. A "terrorist" attack on Washington is possible.

MONDAY MARCH 24

Moon is VOC in Sagittarius until it enters serious Capricorn at 1:48 p.m. EST. Last Quarter Moon at 4 Capricorn occurs seven hours later, at 8:51 p.m. EST.

Aries Sun is about impulsively starting new ventures. Capricorn Moon comes along to put the brakes on. Capricorn needs to apply caution and, above all, useful purpose which will give its ambitions a boost.

Sun and Moon now are both connected with Vesta in Libra, concerned with security. Relationship comes up from varied standpoints. Aries is a loner, Capricorn allies with authority, and Vesta wants equal partnership. How do we combine these urges?

Vesta also refers to money. This Moon is on the degree of the Christmas 2000 Solar Eclipse which was visible in North America. We saw it from California. And it did not bode well for California. The tech market went into a tailspin, housing costs soared, and energy costs went up by as much as 12 times. This was just after GW "won" the presidency. (Is it only two years?)

Watch the economy.

Uranus in Pisces squares the Moon’s Nodes. Nodes are destiny points, and Uranus is surprises. What surprises will destiny bring us with this Quarter Moon? The last quarter, which this is, is about letting go. Uranus can help; he is expert at helping us to detach from that which is no longer current.

Pallas Athena now squares Saturn, to complete her challenge of the Pluto-Saturn opposition. Both Pallas and Saturn like to take charge, and Pluto insists on it. This last 10 days has been a big power struggle. We should see the outcome now.

The Sabian Symbol for 4 Capricorn is

"A GROUP OF PEOPLE OUTFITTING A LARGE CANOE AT THE START OF A JOURNEY BY WATER. The ability to use natural resources and basic skills in order to achieve a group purpose. The main emphasis is on GROUP-ACTIVITY in circumstances implying a need for change."

TUESDAY MARCH 25

Thoughts range far and wide today. We can solidify some of our month’s conclusions into a coherent vision. Moon is still in Capricorn, and purpose is important to us. This morning some opposition may be stirred up regarding resources. Energy to do something practical rises, until Moon goes VOC at 1:16 p.m.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 26

Moon is VOC in Capricorn for most of the day. Let ambition go. Best not to make precise plans. VOC is a good time to retreat and ponder the world, or to simply go out and wander in it.

Sun finally opposes Vesta, and we may breathe a sigh of relief. This day is not great for women.

THURSDAY MARCH 27

Moon is traveling through gregarious Aquarius, and we will want to be connected with others and with the world at large. With Full Moon our inner feelings began to soften, and we find ourselves absorbing that new energy today. There is a focus today and tomorrow on women’s roles. Idealism is strong, and we may be very aware of nature’s grand cycles.

FRIDAY MARCH 28

Moon continues in independent Aquarius with practical aspects. We want to take action to make the world a better place. Venus conjoins Uranus to put an emphasis on love and on women. Uranus’ first two harmonious aspects after it entered Pisces were trines with water Moons. Now its third aspect is a conjunction with Venus. Moon and Venus represent the feminine impulse. This feminine kickoff for Uranus' seven-year journey through Pisces bodes very well for the expression of receptiveness and compassion which is Pisces’ nature. By June we will have Saturn in Cancer, supporting the feminine in Pisces.

This is an excellent day for constructive work (my Mars in Capricorn likes that phrase). We may be able to complete something by the time Moon goes VOC at 3:27 p.m. Tonight is lively. A stimulating discussion, video, or night out may attract us.

SATURDAY MARCH 29

Moon today travels through contemplative Pisces. This morning it meets Uranus and Venus to make us emotional about our loves and our ideals. Compassion is beginning to build, but cold hard "logic" continues to assert its power. Fire, which sweeps all before it, is especially strong today. Science fiction could attract us tonight.

SUNDAY MARCH 30

Take some time to meditate, and then notice the messages that come to you. They may be startling, but they are significant. Let your obligations drop, and spend time in nature today. It can be very healing. Late today Pisces Moon squares Sagittarius Pluto. This happens once each month, but even so, it is often a time of misunderstandings and power struggles. Hang onto your objectivity, and use your power positively. This is the end of the Moon cycle, and letting go is the key now, as we release old stuff.

MONDAY MARCH 31

This is not a gung-ho Monday at the office. We are in dark-of-the-moon time, deep in the womb of new creation, Moon is in laissez faire VOC mode for the first half of the day, and Moon is in mystical Pisces besides. And yet, we have some very deep thinking happening. Let your inner wheels Chiron, but don’t sweat it on outer levels.

At 3:04 p.m., Moon enters Aries. Energy picks up, and we begin our countdown to tomorrow’s New Moon in Aries.
